Spencer's — Local services in Brentwood

Today was a strange day at Spencer’s. I came in excited about the buy-one, get-one half off deal on shirts—a promotion that usually makes shopping here enjoyable because the staff are typically friendly. I was greeted in the usual way, with a friendly “Hi, how are you?” and a helpful inquiry about what I was looking for. However, as I was browsing, I found a shirt that caught my eye. When I excused myself to take a closer look, the same employee who had greeted me approached. Out of the blue, he said, “I can take that if you want it,” and took the shirt from my hands, casually draping it over his shoulder. I noticed that other customers in the store were not treated this way, which made the encounter feel very odd. I can’t help but wonder if the message on my anti-racist hoodie contributed to his behavior. Regardless of the reason, I felt unwelcome and unfairly treated. Would give more stars if products weren’t faulty. Twice I’ve gotten items from this particular facility and twice they’ve not worked. First time thought it was a fluke. Second time. Shame on me. and if the hours of operation were accurate. Waited almost thirty minutes past what’s posted for opening and not a single employee to be seen. Online states 11am-6pm Sunday. If those are not the hours of operation. Maybe adjust that.
