I honestly hate to tell about this event as I like this store and have bought products from here ever since it opened. However, beware of the framing department! We recently had a piece framed. It was made of glass and so it was somewhat heavier than a normal photo, etc. might be. We told the guys doing the framing that extra effort needed to be taken with it to see that it remained set in the frame and we were assured they would do that—-they had extra special tape they could use. When we arrived at our destination the first thing we noticed after it was unwrapped was that it had pulled completely away from the mat and was sliding around. All the shims holding it were loose and they had scraped part of the paint off of it. Fortunately I was able to repair this enough to disguise the scrapes. When we looked at the back we saw it had only been fastened with masking tape. It was the EXACT SAME BEIGE TAPE THEY HAD USED TO WRAP IT IN!!!! So the tape wasn’t nearly strong enough to hold something made of glass. In fact, the tape was wadded up and peeling. My husband tried to hold it up to look at it and the glass front of it broke in his hands. In short, it was a mess. We had to take it into a specialty framing shop to get it re-done. The mat and the wooden frame itself was okay so we were able to salvage that. I’m not saying this to knock Michael’s. As I said before I like the store and I like the people who work there. But BUYER BEWARE—-if you take anything anything heavier in than a paper photograph proceed with caution and make sure they at least use some double sided tape and look it over carefully before you leave the store. Also, they need to find another source for their glass. It is extremely thin and not...
Read moreVery good store for literally any type of Arts &Crafts as well as decoritive items for dyi homes themes and much more. Everytime We go to Michaels we go for a cpl specific items and we end up getting a lot of other great supplies that we had been looking for and not found at any other place thats available. As an Artist and a woodworker the place does have several items that are great for the types of designs I do. Another great thing about Michaels is they always have 40%-50% or more off an item coupons that can easily be found online and used during check out, you can also sign up for a rewards account and receive emails with coupons for any item in store. Also when you use a couon your receipt will print you off another coupon. These can be very helpful if you are on a tight budget and need to get some supplies, etc... Because one of Michaels down sides is that some items are a little too high priced but for the quality of what you're getting its worth it you get what you pay for....
Read moreBig store. Lots to offer. When you find a staff member they are usually busy walking away. But the cashier is usually nice. Even if they aren’t cheerful, they are fast. So that’s a point earned. Unfortunately, I called about a product and was simply told, “yeah, we don’t have that.” But I knew it was carried there. I was just calling ahead to check it was in stock. I even told her where it was and on what endcap. I used the app and saw availability and drove thirty minutes to pick it up off the shelf myself exactly where I had said it was. I should’ve done that in the beginning. I’m only giving four stars for the product availability, sadly not for the staff. If you are self sufficient and know exactly what you are looking for and can use the app to find it, great store. If you need help finding anything, it might be a bit harder...
