My first experience with this location was wonderful!!! The Store Mgr was there and treated me like a queen, very helpful. Listened to my story, my needs and concerns, and helped me find items. Met the asst Mgr that day too, but not much interaction with her that visit. My next few visits I got to interact (indirectly) a bit with Katie the assistant Mgr. I found her a bit abrasive, her style is extremely upbeat (hyper), opinionated and pushy no matter what the customer says. She don’t care to disagree with a customer, I witnessed her be negative about a shirt my friend was trying on. Even though the feedback was not solicited, and my friend told her, “I like the way the shirt looks on me. “ Katie replied, “well that’s just my opinion, and I won’t lie to people”. (Well nobody asked you Katie)
Today was my first real “full on” personal encounter with Katie, I was bringing in a return that was an online order. As I entered the store she asked if I had an exchange, and I told her it was a return only, to which she asked again…. You don't want to exchange it for something else and look around a bit. I found this pushy, but I only replied no thank you. We went to the register where I was returning 2 pair of shoes and 1 pair of panties ordered online. She proceeded to tell me I could not return the panties. I questioned this policy as I have never seen it posted in the store nor on the website when making a purchase. She showed me the back of a receipt that states these items are not returnable. I asked if swim wear was returnable. It is. ….??? Yes I was upset with the policy but what upset me more than anything is the way Katie handled me after that!! Her manner was very short and her voice was loud. I was done dealing with her because I felt she was being rude, I told her I wasn’t trying to be ugly, just to get educated so I don’t make the same mistake twice. As management there may be some more training required for Katie to know how to talk with a customer during uncomfortable or difficult encounters. Because this customer felt very dismissed, as customers we only want to feel heard and be able to voice our concerns. Doesn’t mean we have to get our way…. But...
Read moreThe store manager, Leslie, is super rude. I can’t believe these people work on commission. I called to speak to the store manager to ask why her associate wouldn’t let me use the bathroom. The associate told me that it was a corporate policy, no public bathroom. Leslie got hateful with me and told me that this was just my side of the story, that the associate told her something different, which i don’t know what that could be?? She told me I had to go next door to Party City if I wanted to use the bathroom. Leslie claimed there was an employee in the bathroom who was sick and that’s why I couldn’t use it. Ok so number one how was I supposed to know that? So the associate lied then? It’s not a corporate policy? If that was really the case that one of the employees was sick, I would have understood. The whole thing was very weird and shady and I will NOT be coming back here to spend money. Read moreThis is twice I've walked in to a torrid and left so mad I wanted to ask for a supervisor because the sales associates wouldn't stop breathing down my neck.. only this time they over stepped boundaries and fallowed my 16 yr old neice around stood at the door while she changed then fallowed her around again till we went to paid she's mixed race and I didn't see them doing that to any other customers period like they wouldn't leave her alone she asked why they kept doing that and it was making her very uncomfortable that she just wanted to leave .. as a past sales associate at JCP I know this is against policy to harass the costumer u offer help and then just let them know your there if there's anything they need not sit and fallow them after they have told u and 3 other employees u don't need help!!never spending a dime at torrid again and I'm definitely...
