Great place.
I've been going here for over 10 years, and haven't had a bad experience once. I enjoy being able to walk in and have a good conversation for a few minutes that can be about absolutely anything. You wouldn't expect to go to your LCS and leave there hearing about a new band to check out, getting some ideas on places to eat, or with some insight on the market - but I repeatedly have left there with all of those things, and much more.
John runs a great shop, but he's also a good conversationalist - which isn't always easy to come by. His kindness to kids is top notch. I've seen him sit and talk to little ones excited about their favorite players and first big pulls many times. The shop has also helped to support the youth organization I run for the last two years via raffle baskets and other means. Just good people who care about the hobby.
Products are always in stock, they keep you informed on upcoming releases of stuff you're interested in, and help you find anything you could ask for.
I've been sending people their way for a while, and will continue to do so. Again,...
Read moreI live in VA, I was in the area visiting family. I drove about 90 minutes to the store looking for 1970 topps commons to complete my set. When we walked in the man the store did not greet us or hardly acknowledge us at all. There were no other people in the store. I asked him if he had any 1970 Topps baseball cards for sale. The man said he did not have any at the moment. The man in the store had many binders on shelves covered with a blue tarp. I could see some of the binders on the shelf labeled with baseball cards from the 1970’s. It appears he actually had cards but refused to sell them for whatever reason. Very disappointing I will not go back or recommend Collectors Box to anyone. If I could I won’t give any...
Read moreI have been there 2 times in the last month. They have been so rude the 2 times I was there. I will no longer go there to buy sports cards for my kids. I will drive an hour to Bel Air sports cards from now on. I will drive an hour there where where the owner will spend time talking to the kids. They have spots where the kids can open their cards in the store. My kids have opened pack in the store and the owner notices when the kids open a nice cards and will give the a protective cover to put the card in. It is a much better atmosphere for the kids. I would rather drive and hour to Bel Air sports cards where the kids find it much more enjoyable versus driving 20 minutes to the collector box where they...
