Being a fan of biryani, I always crave for good biryani. Despite NJ having a reputation of Indian capital of USA, I did not find decent biryani (exception - biryani pot, jersey city is close to good). I worked in PA for good 6 months and then I found out great restaurant Biryani city near to my place (Norristown one). So when I was here in Delaware and found that it belongs to the same chain, could not resist and drag my friends here. They curse me now for this biryani obsession and now anytime they can abandon me for this. It was 2:30 PM and most of the restaurants give you deserted look but nope, not here. It was full and waiting time was good 30 minutes. I was here only for good mutton biryani (and my friends were here for me. Poor they), So I ordered 2 mutton biryani, 1 chicken biryani, and chicken chili beforehand so that I get my food as soon I get my table. But nope, I got the table but not food. Still, we waited 20 minutes after getting the table. Nevertheless, food came, I have asked for spicy mutton biryani, and god was it spicy? Hell yes… My wife could not eat even 1 spoon, well good for me, now I can eat whole biryani myself. :P Mutton biryani – I loved it. Pieces were little hard and it could be more soft and juicy but still, I was eating good biryani after ages so who cares. Chicken biryani was also good and so was appetizer chicken chili. The portion was a bit less though. Normally one plate is enough for me, but not here. We had mango lassi and it was also good, unlike another restaurant where they serve some mixed juice in name of mango lassi. Overall food was great, but as usual, like 90% Indian (Telugu folks) restaurant, it was too running by some family/friends and understaffed. In short, service was a bit late, for water, I waited 10 minutes. The ambiance was okay, I was here for biryani, not for ambiance. :P 4/5 star. 1 is for service I guess

14 Aug 2022: take out for indoris. Ordered Paneer and veg biryani along with dum ka veg curry. The biryanis were average. Veg curry good as always. Given the name of the place, I was expecting better biryani. 10 Aug 2022: solo dinner. Ordered samosa ($9) + dum ka veg ($13). Samosa was good, but accompanying chutney was bad, a tamarind chutney would be so much better. Also, give the option to choose 2 or 4 samosa. I got 4 in my order which was way more than 1-2 people can eat. Dum ka veg was good. Very rich South Indian flavor in the curry. Good experience today. 20 Jul 2022: solo lunch. Ordered veggie lunch platter. Came with samosa, palak paneer, Chana masala, biryani and rasmalai. Everything tasted good. Good quantity. Their water had a weird flavor so get a packed drink. Best part was that everything for $8 which is a rare thing in this economy. I deducted a star as the owner/manager was mildly rude with me. Good experience food-wise. Overall recommendation: worth a trip

I have only had the dal (yellow), but it was pretty good for a restaurant. Perhaps I am spoiled by my friend’s uma’s cooking from childhood? The dal needs sal[t]. I have had it medium spicy and Indian spicy, both times it lacked an extra tbsp of salt. It is always packed around 1230 but I have never had to wait for a table. What I have had to wait for, however, is the check. I’ve been finished eating for 13 minutes and no one has returned to drop off my check. Also, no one ever checks back with me after dropping my food off. I had to get their attention to ask for the salt. Update: it’s been 30 minutes now so I finally just asked for the check. They never brought it! The food is pretty cheap with excellent portions. Their chai is alright but doesn’t come pre-sweetened and adding the sugar packets after the tea has been made detracts from the sweetness.

Me and my husband first time visit last week good was fresh and it was good only thing I didn't like is I had curry chicken and I ask was it made with all white meat they said yes but clearly it was all dark small like 5 piece of meat and a entire bowl of sauce the sauce was very good but hardly no meat and it was dark so I actually gave the meat to my husband we also had the chilli shrimp which was very good and my husband had some kind of rice with chicken it had a lot of bones in the rice and very mince small pieces of chicken food was hot and tasty and this was around 8pm on day last week

Today we went for lunch around 2:30/3 the guy was really nice and welcoming we got seated right away the lady taking out orders seem to be in a rush she was back in forth between the counter answering the phone takin orders, and on her own personal phone and running back in forth from the lobby to the back she was all over the place we was there before 3 others tables came in they all got there food before us pissed me off I feel like they cater to their own kind first my husband had the weekend veggie special the same as the other tables order around us we was very confused why they got their food first when they came in about 15-20 min after us I order butter nann bread and the chilli shrimp the shrimp definitely was not fresh and they was extra hot in temperature as so was the plate I feel like they was made already and then they pre heated it in the microwave nothing like they was the first time we had them also that's an appetizer and I notice the price of the appetizer are mostly higher than the price of an entree which is wild! Now my husband food comes out after we as about why other tables who came afterwards have there food already his rice cold his soup cold two of the four meats he had cold the server never came back she never even brought over the water we order my husband went to the fridge and got the water out his self she was checking on all the others tables in the lobby thou all of her own kind but not ours we felt really out of place and Mr and my husband both a actually started getting a bit pissed off I had to ask a guy how brought another table food out the back for rice that wasn't cold and for him to get my husband meat and soup that wasn't cold he said ok 10 mins later we still sitting there finally I stood up and basically had to flag the server down and ask her again for hot food because his was cold she says oh I know I thought it was brought out to him already I said do you see it now it's been well over 40 mins we both ready do go they bring out more hot food finally I ask for the check and a to go container of course she's back at every other table except ours so I walks up to the register and stand there in front until she finally maybe 3 mins later says oh yes what do you need I said the check and take out box which I already told her now the phones are ringing she's taking orders goes back into the kitchen now comes back out take my payment and still I had to ask for a take out box again can you say pissed off to the max we will never return and that rice I tell like is bag or box minute rice they making in microwave and mixing like everyone else said diff flav or the rice and frozen peas and carrots this was a mess and honestly we could've got a burger from Burger King would've been better than this word of advice make sure you treating all customers that sit down a d eat equally!!! No tip was left and I felt bad about that but it was none deserve today at all a wast of 38$ that's server/ host today needs a reality...

Stopped in here on a Friday evening because we were at the nearby Hobby Lobby and saw it in the strip mall. My wife and I love Indian food but are fairly picky about where we eat it. Biryani City did not disappoint! If you love Indian cuisine then Biryani City is a must try Indian Restaurant!

The service at Biryani City was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my dining experience was great. They were attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about providing a welcoming atmosphere and great service. Their warm hospitality made me feel welcomed and that my experience was valued.

One of the highlights of my visit was the staff's extensive knowledge about the menu. The gentleman who waited on us graciously took the time to explain each dish we had questions about in detail, helping me navigate through the many options. Their honest advise allowed me to make informed choices, and my wife and I were thrilled with the food that we ordered!

Now, let's talk about the food - it was simply outstanding and the best Indian food I've ever had! Biryani City truly lives up to its name, as the chicken biryani I had there was the best I have ever tasted. I asked for it to be very spicy and it was the PERFECT amount of heat to flavor that I was hoping for. The flavors were rich, fragrant, and balanced. Each dish was a delightful explosion of authentic Indian spices and aromas. The restaurant's skill and pride in the menu were evident in every dish we tried. In addition to the Biryani, we had several naan varieties, Chicken Tikka Masala, and a chicken appetizer that was amazing.

The diverse selection of curries, naan, roti, dosa, and many other options left me spoiled for choice. Every dish was prepared with such attention that enhanced the overall taste and authenticity..

In conclusion, my visit to Biryani City was an absolute delight. The attentive service, knowledgeable staff, and exceptional food quality have left an indelible impression on me and we will certainly be back, probably within the week! If you're a fan of Indian cuisine or simply looking for a great cuisine experience, I highly recommend Biryani City. Trust me, you won't be...
