Country Maid — Restaurant in Delaware

UPDATE: I am completely shocked at the subs that we received today. I have been going to this country maid for cold cuts, cheese and subs since I was a teenager. The subs we got today were totally not what we ordered. I received onions and provolone cheese which I did not ask for and there was next to no meats on the sub. The 2nd sub we asked for no pickles or peppers and they put hot peppers on it. He asked for mayo and oil, and there was no mayo. He watched her write it down and she still made the subs wrong! 🤦‍♀️😕 No more subs from there if that is how they are going to make them.

Best subs for a decent prices. The people who work here are great and they make sure that you will have a great tasting sub regardless of when you will be eating it as they will wrap it according to keep it from getting soggy. I used to get subs from them for field trips for my kids and I and I would let them know that it was for a field trip for the next day. They would wrap it with foil and put the oil in a separate container. Their prices for bread and other grocery items are on the high side but the subs...

I have been a customer at this store for 27 years. The subs are great and the macaroni salad is the best around. They wait on you on a first come, first served basis, regardless of whether you are a regular or not. I will continue to patronize this store for many years to come. That being said, I was at the store last month 7/2/2020, just after 7:30 PM. The woman who was in such a rush that she had to be served first, because she had chicken in the car. Bantering back and forth in front of the store, then sitting in her car in front of the store, then sitting in her car further out in the parking lot, and I have photos to prove it. HARASSING the workers. Seams to me she couldn't care less about her damn chicken. Then she leaves a bad review for spite, just because she didn't get her way. They are better off without that kind...

WHEW! When I tell you about this delicious, fresh turkey hoagie - it will be the ONLY hoagie you will think about.

It’s a small deli, with a large menu of cold sandwich options. They carry a variety of snacks and drinks. Even some fresh fruit! They take cash and card. My suggestion is bring cash - only because it’s a small deli and their card reader may be down. Wonderful customer service and wonderful customers. This deli is a delicious reminder that Delaware has its many little treasures tucked away in the least obvious of places.

I had a fresh turkey hoagie. The turkey meat was chopped right off the bone. The tomatoes, onion, and lettuce were crisp. The mayo was the perfect hoagie mayo - with that little bit of sweetness that you expect from mayo on a hoagie sub. THE BREAD??? Perfect crusty...
