My Wife and I like many others in these reviews remember and loved Boston Market for years. Well we both thought that all of the BM's in Delaware were closed but we found out the one in Newark where we used to go to years ago was still open. We were excited especially when we saw the menu and the prices. Man, our stomachs were growling looking at the menu items. So I ordered ahead and I got the Bourbon BBQ and Bacon 3 piece meal with Mac and Cheese and Mashed potatoes also some BBQ rotisserie wings. My wife got 1/4 White with steamed broccoli and cilantro and lime rice. So I ordered ahead and scheduled my pickup for 630. Mind you I drive from Townsend De to Newark mouth watering. I pull up and not a Darn Soul was in that restaurant but 2 workers not even wearing anything with Boston Market in it. Again it was 615 pm the store didn't close until 1030. There were no Chickens spinning in the rotisserie oven, honestly I don't think they were even functional. I look at the nasty floor and carpet. The soda machines were not working. If I didn't pay ahead I would have left. So when I go up to the counter she said you picking up? So obviously I was there only online pickup customer. Anyway I look at the sides nothing resembles anything I remember Boston Market making. So she then tells me we didn't have any Rotisserie wings. And gave me nuggets instead. I said fine I got 2 orders 1 spicy and one not. I drive all the way back home and I open my meal hoping what I saw in the restaurant wasn't what I was about to see in my food container. I was so wrong. I had no BBQ Bourbon Bacon chicken. Just some dry ass leathery chicken that was not rotisserie. Mac and cheese was yellow water and noodles,no taste whatsoever. The only thing that was ok was the cornbread and the mashed potatoes were ok but they didn't have gravy. So My wife was waking up and I texted her and told her the food was here but don't get your hopes up. Her order was just as bad as mine. No roasted garlic in the chicken just plain dry leather chicken, rice was crunchy and the steamed broccoli was wet and limp. So I said all of this to et everyone know. This in no way shape or form Boston Market. The food is terrible and they need to close this one like they did all the others. I wasted $45...
Read moreI will preface this with saying we have ordered catering through this store before and have been happy. However this time….
Ordered catering week prior for our mother’s cancer free anniversary on 2/18/23. We confirmed delivery with the store the day of around noon for 3:30-3:45 drop off at my house. Guests scheduled to arrive between 4-4:15pm due to our mom arriving at 4:30pm (it was a surprise party).
Started calling the store at 3:50pm to figure out what was up with delivery. Took about AN HOUR AND A HALF to get ahold of someone. We couldn’t leave because it was a surprise party and everyone wanted to be there. At one point, 4 of us were calling the store, no answer with anyone. Then we FINALLY got ahold of someone, Frank. Stated Jasmine would be bringing our food and apologized. Promised food by 5:30.
We debated on ordering a bunch of pizza for everyone because everyone was starting to get hungry.
Food finally arrived at 5:55pm by Jasmine (originally scheduled and CONFIRMED for 3:30-3:45pm).
Food was obviously rushed as chicken was extremely over cooked and mac and cheese and the sweet potato casserole were very watery. Super disappointing as this cost close to $600.
Brother went into the store the following day to speak to a manger. Jasmine and another worker was there. He saw that over half the items were not in stock and he did not go late in the day. The 2 employees stated there was no manager present and he was in Trinidad. Brother asked why there was no manager present, the only 2 staff there said they were acting as managers. Brother insisted to speak to a regional manager. He spoke to Frank. No help whatsoever.
Super disappointed and please re-evaluate stopping by this Boston Market for your meals/catering.
If you are unable to keep your store in stock or cannot have more than 2 employees working maybe it’s time to close down. I wonder if they had to run over to the Acme for stock in our catering order. Sad.
We are in talks with corporate to get the issue resolved as this store...
Read moreWhat can I say about this den of vomit?... Well why is it a "Den of Vomit"? I went in to pick up dinner for my dad and I. We planned on having a nice meal at home and watch a movie. I walked in there front doorway to be welcomed with vomit on the floor. Which I stepped in. Twice. I threw up a little in my mouth, I must admit. But I kept it down glad to say. Fortunately it was raining outside so I knew I could jump into a puddle when I left to wash off the puke. I got in line and waited to be served. This took approximately 30 minutes. This was due to a Moron placing a large order but forgetting his wallet in his car. Which he left to fetch and the cashier instead of putting his order on hold and move to the next customer, stood there like an even bigger moron. Her manager asked " what she was doing and then lectured her about her bad cashiering. Now while true. The manager was in the wrong for embarrassing her coworker in front of the guests and other coworker's. The other moron (forgetful wallet guy) shows back up with his wallet. Paid and moved down the line. I got two of the meatloaf meals w/mashed potatoes and baby carrots. It took about 10 minutes more to get food that was readily available to be served but that employee was busy on his cell phone so I would have to wait. Leaving, I knew there was something I was forgetting and then I remembered. Just as I stepped in the vomit for a third time I remembered, (Mention the vomit) . So I grabbed the attention of the manager to tell her about the mouth spill. She apologized and said she would take care of it personally. I was parked out front so when I got into the car I expected to see a clean up. Nope. I went to pick up my dad from his doctors appointment in the same shopping center and went by Wendy's to get two frosty's for dessert. This took about 20 minutes all together. I decided to drive by the Boston Market just to see if the vomit was cleaned. It wasn't. Drive Thru next time will be my choice if I...
