I had a deeply Traumatic experience at Nordstrom while shopping with my 12-year-old daughter.
Out of nowhere, a man with a piece of paper approached me, accused me of responding to a name that wasn’t mine, and then aggressively told me I was trespassing. He was not in uniform, did not show a badge, and never introduced himself. At first, I thought he was a random person harassing us, but he continued to follow me and my daughter, making us feel unsafe and frightened.
I rushed to the customer service counter asking for help, only to later find out that this man was actually part of Nordstrom’s security team. My husband confronted him, and the man admitted he had no picture of the person he was looking for but claimed I “fit the profile.” When pressed for details, his co worker and Manager refused to identify that individual beyond a first name, “Tom.” Later, when this individual returned, I asked him directly, and he stated his name was Tomas Foley. The manager then confirmed that he is a Nordstrom employee.
The manager, Sarah Winters, eventually came but was dismissive and unprofessional. While she admitted I looked nothing like the person they were supposedly looking for, she offered no accountability or real resolution. Instead, the entire situation was brushed aside.
This experience was humiliating, traumatizing, and discriminatory. I firmly believe I was treated unfairly because of my race/ethnicity, not because of any valid suspicion. My daughter was left shaken and fearful after witnessing her mother being followed, accused, and harassed without cause.
Nordstrom needs to take accountability for this appalling conduct. Security should never intimidate or humiliate customers—especially in front of children—without clear justification. This was racial profiling, pure and simple, and it destroyed my trust in Nordstrom as a safe...
Read moreIn store experience with Sabeen was wonderful. She was extremely helpful and assisted me with ordering Chanel perfume. The store was sold out of the size that I wanted however, she informed me that if I ordered via the link sent my phone, the perfume would ready for pickup the following day. I went to Nordstroms in Christiana mall the following evening to pickup perfume. After waiting for roughly 30 minutes to find out what was going on with the order, I was informed that there was issue with King of Prussia shipping the perfume to Christiana. However, the kind young man made me aware that the perfume would arrive the next day to Christiana. I made him aware that I lived an hour & 45 minutes away and to return the next day is an inconvenience. I asked to have perfume shipped my house since I had already wasted time by going to Nordstroms and the perfume was not there. He said yes, we can ship it. I then asked if I could have it overnighted as I was really anticipated to have the fragrance before leaving the store, he said yes. I understand things happen. However, I received a call from Bridgette this evening informing me that overnight shipping is $20 which will need to be paid in order to ship the fragrance. I explained to her yesterday’s inconvenience hence the reason I requested overnight shipping. She proceeded to say that shipping needs to be paid if I wanted the order overnight. So I asked to return the product and for a refund as this is horrible customer service. I work in the customer service industry, when mistakes are made, we make it right. Not hassle the customer for more money to...
Read moreI have an important wedding to attend in June and needed to purchase a new suit so my wife and I went to the King of Prussia Mall to see what was out there in men’s clothing.
The first stop was Nordstrom’s Men’s store who happened to be running their semi-annual sale. The men's store is top notch at Nordstrom, the quality of suits is outstanding, with pricing to match. As my old boss used to say, good ain't cheap, and cheap ain't good. I haven’t purchased a suit in over a decade, which helps explain these prices were about double the last time I bought one. And those suits they had on sale were not going to work.
Salesperson Alex Chapman was there to help us in his chill, no high-sales pressure manner by asking us questions he used the answers to find the perfect suit. He started by taking my measurements and then presenting us with choices of suits in my size. We told him what we were looking for and watched the master go to work.. The man is a pro.
We were presented with a number of suits that looked spectacular and would be perfect for the assignment. We made our favorite choice and are thrilled with it despite paying more for a suit than I ever have paid in my life.
The one good thing when you pay full price for a suit at Nordstroms is alterations are included. Alex did a masterful job of taking me through the process.
Worked with fit specialist, Brahma, who marked the suit up to be altered. You come back and try the suit after alterations are complete, and they double check it to make sure everything looks perfect and will fix it if it is not. Perfection...
