If I had to describe this hotel in one word it would be "disappointing'. From the moment we checked in we were greeted with incompetence. The gentleman (a kid no older than 18) who was working the front desk not only gave us zero information about the hotel- pool location (none),fitness center location (also none), or breakfast times and location- but also overcharged us and when we told him about it he said we would have to come back in the morning because there was nothing he could do. Surprisingly it only got worse from there. The hotel floors were dirty, not 'to be expected because people come in and out' dirty bit more like 'we don't own a vacuum and wouldn't know what to do with it if we did' dirty. Once we settled in to our room we needed to pull out the sofa bed for our daughter to sleep on and discovered that there was apparently a cracker eating contest held in this room by the last occupants. On the third night the toilet in our room got stopped up and so we needed to switch rooms - not the hotel's fault, things happen- and when we walked in we saw that the AC unit was literally falling off the wall. Lastly the internet. The free internet available was about as fast as 56k dialup so I decided to upgrade to the 2.5x faster 'high speed' option. This was yet another problem as I had signed up for this in our old room and the room number is how the internet is authenticated. I called the front desk and was told 'I don't know anything about that' and was given a number to call. While this outside helpdesk did answer relatively quickly, they were of no help until I was able to speak with a manager. I have stayed at dozens of hotels in my life and have never had such an unpleasant experience. If I could rate this establishment lower than one star I would. I would not recommend that anyone waste their money by booking a room here.

First, the front office staff at this hotel was amazing, from the front desk attendees to the general manager. They were all very accommodating and friendly. That's all that was good about this hotel. We were in town on a work trip and had reserved 4 rooms. 3 of the 4 rooms were dirty upon arrival. There was urine on my toilet seat upon check in, another room had debris all over the floor, dead flies and a large amount of some type of gooey substance in the bathroom sink. When changing rooms, he was given the key to an already occupied room at 2:30 in the morning. He was trying to enter an occupied room, he's lucky he didn't get injured or shot. I feel terrible for the sleeping guest. The heater in my room made a loud whistling sound every time it turned on/off keeping me up all night. The shower and sink water was lukewarm at best. I requested a coffee pot and coffee mug, both were filthy and the coffee pot leaked water from the bottom. I had no hand towels all week and was given 4 wash clothes to use as hand towels. There is no maid service at all. I saw a maid once over 4 days. when I first checked in, I told them my toilet was dirty, they gave me a rag and spray to clean it myself. The hotel smells of marijuana all day and night, the halls are dimly lit and I even came in one evening to police lights in front of the hotel...I'm not sure why they were there. In short, do not book this hotel. I don't know where these 5 star reviews are coming from, but this place is not sanitary. I have 2 stars ONLY because the front end staff was so nice. Don't do it even if tempted by the price.

This place is an absolute DUMP. When you walk in the front door, you’re hit with the stench of weed and cigarettes. They swear they have a no smoking policy.. but they obviously don’t enforce it or care about it. When I first checked in.. the lady said they didn’t have the room that I reserved. I reserved a king suite and she put me in a double bed room. When I go into my room, someone was already staying in it. When I go back, she only had a handicap room available, which if you’ve never stayed in, is very inconvenient for someone without those needs. There was someone else’s hair in the freshly made bed, the smoke alarm just hanging in the breeze with exposed wires out.. the leaky ceiling with a bad patch job on it. Stains on the carpet. Like I said previously this place is a dump, it’s a joke. There were kids running up and down the halls all night making it impossible to sleep. This is section 8 housing it seems, there was a school bus picking kids up in the morning crowding the lobby while I was trying to check out. Dogs barking constantly, this feels like a motel 6. You can see attached that I had two rooms booked, and the day prior to check in the management asked me to combine my two room reservation into one… absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Incredibly unprofessional from this management team… if I could leave negative stars I would. But unfortunately Google only lets you put 1. If you ever come to Deleware, please go to the Hampton Inn across the street.. it’s only $30 more a night.

We have been staying here for a couple of moths now and I can honestly say that I, personally, do not any major or serious current and past issues with this hotel. |The inside & outside of the hotel is usually always taken care of and nice looking.|The staff are always nice and helpful. Sheryl, Brandi, Amare, Mimi, and Dom have never not helped when I need anything! They've all gone above and beyond to make sure I have everything I need and want. Gerri has also been nothing but respectful to me. We haven't had too many encounters as she seems to always be running around do something. The check-in/check-out process is quite simple and quick. |The couple of rooms that we've stayed in, have been clean. The beds; linen and pillows, are comfortable and clean.|The carpets, however, need a serious update.|The hotel offers kitchen utensils; pots, pans, silverware, coffee pot, etc. Me personally, all I've asked for was a pot and pan and it took about a week to receive. They have a shortage of items. |The bathroom, with every room, was/is clean. I haven't had a hair dryer in any room though, even tho there is a clear spot to where it should be. |The hotel has many kids and animals here. Other than the occasional constant barking or heavy running of kids that can be heard from the floor below, it's all to be expected. However, talking about dogs, there needs to be posts around the whole hotel, that are always stocked with doggy poop bags! Some people allow their dogs to use the restroom in any of the open grass and just leave it there! I've seen a couple of people step in it. If it were me, I'd be livid! No reason for that! Clean up after your dogs! It shouldn't be the staffs responsibility to clean up after a guests animals! Some lack common courtesy, I guess!|Other than those couple of things, my main problem I have with here is the "breakfast"! Beverages incluse coffee, hot chocolate packs, and hot tea. There is also 4 different flavors of instant oatmeal along with hot water. The cups for the drinks and oatmeal and the same size (small). And up until about 2 or 3 weeks ago, there was always a shortage of something, whether is be no lids for the cups, not hot chocolate or oatmeal. Sometimes, even a shortage of oatmeal. They also have Nutrigrain bars and muffins. I believe it's advertised to have a fuller breakfast menu. It's definitely not that. Whoever does the ordering for the breakfast food/drinks/materials, should order more, per week, just in case that everything goes quick. I was told that sometimes things are on backorder (which probably is true), so ordering extra everything, would help cut out the times there are backorder or delays in products. |If i could give this hotel a 4.5 out of 5 stars, I would (so i opted to give 5 stars)!| Because of MY personal experiences, so far, I absolutely will recommend here to anyone who asks and I also would absolutely stay here...

When traveling with my family I always choose a hotel that I know is safe and comfortable and clean. I have yet to have a not so good experience with Extended Stay. Usually they take pride in their property. The staff at this location was very friendly but the property seemed more like a homeless shelter. there was a rich and pungent odor of marijuana mingled with cigarette smoke upon entering the building and in the lobby and the parking lot had broken glass and used liquor bottles and cans strewn about. One thing that caught my wife and I off guard was the front desk attendant asking my wife for her personal information though the room was in my name, because she was a guest (never had that happen before at any hotel). When we arrived at our room it definitely was not the "Extended Stay" standard. The furniture was tattered as if purchased from a hotel closing sale and the room itself smelled musty, there were dead insects in the window sills and the bathroom was not very clean. What was more surprising was finding used and unused condoms underneath the bed closer to the A/C unit (way gross), so glad it was me that found them and not my children. Finally, the kitchen area had no cookware or utensils. We ended up traveling over to the Dollar Tree to purchase cleaning equipment to at least address areas in the room that we felt needed better attention. My suspicions were accurate about the property being used for homeless individuals the next morning during checkout when i witnessed numerous children coming off of the elevator to board a waiting school bus. Also, there were no items in the grab and go area and exiting the front door, we had to struggle through a wall of cigarette smoke as there were numerous individuals smoking directly at the front entrance. I understand that homeless individuals need to be cared for and I support that, nonetheless the management and property owners should take extreme pride in the image and integrity of the property. Perhaps have maintenance do routine walks sweeping up the property of trash and having some type of disinfectant and air sanitizer in the lobby and MOST DEFINITELY designate the smoking area to the rear of the building or off to the side instead of at the front door so it doesn't interfere with paying guests. This hotel stay with Extended was not...

If you like weird smells, nasty carpets, and the smell of cigarettes this is the place for you. I have just moved to DE and had to get a room for my in-laws and this place was recommended so we booked, the day come to check them in and when I tell you this place was straight out of a dumpster I kid you not the foul smell, the stains on the carpets and the horrid smell of cigarette in wants supposed to be a non smoking room was outrageous. Still against my better judgement we go check out the room……… even worse than the hallways the bathroom looked like it hadn’t seen a cleaning product or mop since this place opened. The carpet had questionable stains and don’t get me started on the smoke alarm beeping oh and let’s not forget the horrific stovetop/cooktop. So my husband goes downstairs to req another room but before he could get the chance I rushed downstairs to get him to book elsewhere the lady in the front was so rude black girl with braids and glasses I seem to have bothered her by req to check out and a full refund seeing as we checked in and quickly checked out she was too busy on the phone and I guess doing her job was a huge inconvenience… she tell us there’s nun she can do and we would have to call back and have the manager refund us yeah right we have been calling this place for TWO WEEKS trying to get a manager they always say she isn’t available or she just left, they give me a time to call and conveniently she has left. The endless messages I have left and crickets this is by far the worst place to book from the appearance and the element that’s walks the halls this place is a dump actually that is an insult I’ve seen dumps cleaner that this joint. I wasn’t gonna leave a review but I am beyond upset from the horrible condition to horrible CX services all I wanted was a refund we didn’t even spend all of 20 mins there before checking out . I still can’t believe the way the girl behind the counter acted like guest inconvenience you and hinder you form chilling in the back on ur phone the look she gave me when I asked to check out was like ok what u what me to do about it . Don’t stay here they def will not refund you also might catch something...
