Sonesta Select Newark Christiana Mall — Hotel in Brookside

BEST HOTEL IN OUR TRI STATE AREA! Look no further. There is so much the Sonesta Select offers that sets it far apart from any other hotel around. I stay in hotels often for both family leisure and my business. Let me break it down: From the moment you arrive at Sonesta Select, you are warmly welcomed with genuine hospitality and care. The check-in process is always prompt and seamless; the front desk staff goes above and beyond to make us feel at home right away. Every staff member I’ve encountered is always friendly, attentive, and happy to offer their assistance. It’s like they really truly care about each guest, which I have never found at any other hotel. In addition to hospitality, the front desk staff is always good for having recommendations about local attractions, restaurants, etc. which immediately helps set the best tone for my family and I to enjoy a wonderful stay. Our rooms have all been consistently spotless. I have everything I need in the room. First off, the beds are luxuriously comfortable…crisp clean linens and comfortable pillows that ensure me the most restful sleep every time I stay. Every detail—down to the blackout curtains, ample charging outlets, and perfectly quiet atmosphere…I've stayed at many hotels in the area, and have only found this at Sonesta. I especially appreciate this for my business stays, when I need to ensure my best quality sleep, work, and performance in the morning. I wouldn't consider anywhere else ever again. The location is even unbeatable—conveniently close to local attractions, dining, and shopping, while still offering a quiet, peaceful environment to return to at the end of the day. Parking is safe, easy, and accessible. The bathrooms are sparkling, already stocked with everything I need, and the shower honestly has better water pressure than I have at home. I think the housekeeping staff deserve high praise for their attention to detail. No matter which room I have booked, it always feels refreshed and spotless, like its a brand new room set up just for me. In fact the entire hotel maintains a pristine environment. Sonesta Select truly goes above and beyond with their amenities. Their fitness center is my favorite spot to work out in the morning. Its well-equipped and clean, offering everything I need for my full workout. The indoor heated pool is always sparkling clean, incredibly well-maintained every day, and perfect for both my family fun, and solo relaxation. Their high-speed WiFi throughout the property and printer makes working remotely for my business very smooth. When I stay with my family, we can stream my children and partner’s favorite playforms effortlessly. The lobby center is has an additional comfortable lounge area including personal table with outlets- I love this as an added bonus for my work. It is truly a home...

05-22-23 (19:40) To corporate- the above date and time is when the initial interaction took place so you can view cameras. I had been staying at this for a month on business. Depending on the person at the service counter, your experience may very. Tonight tried to get my key card working because I had to extend my stay. And apparently they deleted my reservation instead of extending it. Stuff happens this in it self is not a big deal. The issue is that they had my belongings in the room and wasnt willing to help me retrieve them. Kim (women at desk) essential saying I don't see your name nothing I can do. I asked her to call the manager to figure it out she was unwilling that she (manager) will be there at 8. Admittedly I'm quite irritated at this point. I had another reservation made with this hotel just so I could shower and sleep and deal with my belongings the next day. Kim wasn't even willing to look it up. Said she never got an email, which is B.S. 1- because she didn't even look in her computer. 2- I quite literally had the reservation pulled up on my phone. After a somewhat heated conversation I went to get a different hotel having my office calling them the next day to retrieve my belongings. During that call the hotel admits that they messed up and didn't extended my reservation, (this is recorded). I rearrange my schedule the following day to now retrieve my belongings and call before I go to verify, apparently Kim is still working and upon hearing what the call is about hangs up the phone on me. I drive to the hotel definitely not happy, ask Kim to speak with the manager who basically has no control or care about how her employees treat guest, state my issue get push back from her because obviously I'm not happy and she apparently thinks I'm just supposed to bend over backwards to make her feel good about herself even though they obviously made the mistake, escalated it, and made it situation harder then it needed to be. All that being said I have spoken with quite a few people at this hotel guest and employee and it's not a bad hotel. Quite, comfortable, for the most. With easy access to the highways. Short of a few people that are in need of training this has the potential to be an awesome...

I would just like to take time out to thank the staff that did a tremendous job for my family & I. They were very welcoming upon arrival & throughout the stay. The hotel did a tremendous job in making the event we came to town for worth choosing. From the Sales team ( Tyson Ours) who made it reasonable for the accommodations. He was very professional. Along with his quick response in communicating was awesome. I would like to say, Thank you.. |Katie, at the FD was awesome to the family & very accommodating. Even though she was on shift alone, she did her best to make everything right during check in if an issue needed addressing. Kenya & Adrielione was very professional at the FD. They always spoke & always had that smile attached to it, which made it welcoming just to have conversations with them. I don’t know the security/ maintenance guy name but he was all over the place making sure the hotel was presentable. One minute, he’s at the front lobby, next minute he’s in the parking lot picking up trash, from the front to back, side to side. I was like Wow, he does it all. Then next minute, I see him walking the halls to check if all was well on the floors. I mean he was all over the place, so much respect to you, young man. Your work went unnoticed. I liked the rooms, can be updated but overall for the price, it was well worth it. It came with a microwave/ mini fridge. Keurig with coffee/tea. This place even had a smart tv. I was watching YouTube. Lol. I didn’t get a chance at the indoor pool but it was open. They even had a one person laundromat. The place was pretty big. Some family members ate breakfast at the restaurant there & said it was pretty good. So thank you Tonya. Even though Dunkin Donuts is a hop, skip, & jump away from the parking lot they grabbed a bite to eat from here. Overall, Thank you, Sonesta Select employees/ staff.
