EDIT 3/4/2025: A settlement has been reached with this business. Additionally whoever Morgan Drive is, your post is not helpful if you have not done business with this organization, you need to remove your review, unless you have a legitimate complaint with this business. Hate to be writing this review after doing business with PopnBeards since the first store started in 2015 as Game Outlet, but I can't stay silent anymore hoping for them to do the right thing. Let me start by saying I have bought and sold Funko Pops with this business for years, never had an issue until the last collection I brought in September 2023. Collection valued at almost 10 thousand dollars, they had just started a new "consignment" system, where basically they pay out 50% of whatever the pops sell for, and promised weekly updates and payouts. Sounded like a great system, so I agreed to it. Months pass with little to no updates. Finally get an update after visiting in person, which I was told they had issues with a cyberattack, and were working to get everything online again, as well as dealing with conventions. Fine, more months pass into 2024, finally get a response in March 2024 admitting they messed up and to make up for all the wrong, would now pay me the full value of the collection (note I had still received nothing at this point). I agreed and finally received 2 payments in May 2024 and then once again nothing. So finally I propose a payment plan to the owner that would repay me the outstanding balance over a year, which the owner agreed to. Get a payment in August 2024, then payments October through December 2024. Great I think this is finally going to be settled. Nope. It is now February 12, 2025, and have not received any further payments, communications, nothing. It further stings that he apparently is paying other people on here no problem. Now not only do I not have the pops I brought to him, I also barely have half the agreed upon compensation he promised to right the wrongs back in March 2024. In addition to that, I still have orders from years ago that I had requested be cancelled at the same time in September 2023, that only a few were cancelled and the rest just sit on their website. I post this to warn people who are looking to sell collectables to this business, either get the money up front, or get the business to sign a contract to give yourself some attempt at protection for if they decide they don't want to pay you what...
Read moreEdit: It's now 11/27 and despite claims from the operations manager that I will be paid, I have not been paid a single cent. This company essentially stole a highly valuable ($8-9k) personal collection from me. I would have loved to be able to update this review on a happier note and maybe I still can, but as of right now, this company has completely robbed me.
Despite the rating I'm giving, I actually really like this store. The employees are extremely nice and helpful, especially the manager. The selection is fantastic and fun to browse and I think this store is truly one-of-a-kind.
However, back in September, I decided to consign my collection to PopNBeards. It seemed promising and I really thought I could trust PopNBeards to handle the sale. According to an email from them on 09/20/23, the would appraise the collection and list all my figures in store and online, promising to offer "access to real-time updates on the status of [my] items, including when they sell and for how much" and would "prioritize quick payouts." In an email on 09/21/23, they clarified that "the way we process collections now is that we receive the collection and price it, giving you the total value we find. If you agree to the pricing, then we list the items and provide you a way to monitor the sales of your items. Once items begin to sell, we will pay out weekly... 50% of the market value of the items." I dropped off my collection on 09/21/23 and items quickly began to sell with posts even going up on their Instagram featuring my collection on 09/23 and 09/26.
It is now 11/04/23. I never did get access to any kind of transparent process of seeing what was selling and when/for how much. Instead I just constantly search the website for items that I've listed - though if anyone else has ever listed the same figure, you won't know which is your and how much your figure sold for. It seems that PopNBeards has now sold around $8k worth of figures of my collection - owing me roughly $4k. I haven't received a single dollar.
Leaving this review feels like the only way I can try to get the owner's attention as there's not really any other way I can tell to reach them. I understand running a small business is difficult and with SDCC and everything else going on, the owners have probably been extremely busy, but I do think making sellers whole should still...
Read moreBusiness offers a consignment program to buy Funko pop collection where they offer 50% of the estimated value when selling an item. If you compare other businesses that offer to buy Funko pops, this is the most competitive offering I've encountered. I sent a Funko pop collection containing 204 items and was paid 50% of the estimated value. While there were initially some communication delays regarding the selling status of my collection, the business took full responsibility for the error, and I was ultimately paid the expected amount for...
