It could happen anywhere... Unfortunately it happened at Ecco Clothes in Burlington, after seeing the most perfect pair of boots it was decided that we would pay premium pricing to support the local retail trade... Bad choice... After trying the boots on and walking in them more than you ever could while in the store it was found that they just weren't right for my feet. (You know that aching foot thing that you can't resolve no matter how you wear the shoes). At this time we were home and unable to drive right over to the store... (4.5 hours) So... After attempting to contact the store it was clear that their customer service was lacking... Unanswered emails first round. Finally getting ahold of the store. It was clear they were only going to do store credit. Apparently that is their return policy that we did not notice or hear about while in store. If they were a frequently visited place we may have setttled for that. It was offered that we would pay for shipping to execute the return as we were not going to be over there any time soon (they seem like the kind of establishment that would have expiring gift cards.) In attempts to discuss further with management we have been blatantly ignored, having gotten nowhere. Just rude service and poor customer satisfaction. (We still have the boots and are realizing as time goes by we might not make the return cut at all. 1 star for looking like a nice shop, but all else is lacking, product quality for price, store policies, and all else just aren't there. Going on 2 weeks with no responses or willingness to be a top shelf high priced...
Read moreUncomfortable shopping experience. I bought a pair of corduroy pants four days ago and went to wear them today, for the first time, to find that two of the belt loops were ripped from where they attach to the pant. I wondered if this was a defect or somehow my fault, but brought them back to the store regardless to resolve this- $200 pants shouldn't do this. The manager would only give me store credit, but first wanted to wait until the STORE got a refund from the item's manufacturer....like, come on.
Disappointed that I couldn't get money back, we went to see if there was another pair I could at least replace my ripped ones with. There was another defective pair in the pile- ripped on the belt loops just like mine! I was really frustrated after this that there was still no possibility for money back. I get following a strict policy, but this is just a total rip off.... emphasis on the RIP.
Store credit in this instance is really not a resolution. Management will prioritize making money before making any customer reparations- even in what should be rare policy exceptions for those unfortunate enough to wind up with defects (kind of makes it seem like maybe this isn't so rare). If you want shoppers to actually come back, give them a validating shopping experience. Don't just hold people hostage with store credit that they're probably too uncomfortable to actually...
Read moreI absolutely love this store! It is always my go to when I have a wedding or special event to attend, as their dress selection can’t be beat!! When I need a little pick me up and some retail therapy, I go to Ecco! The staff is beyond exceptional!! They feel a shopper out and if someone wants to be left to shop in peace, they respect that. If someone like me is looking for advice on jeans, outfits, etc, they go above and beyond to find me things I love at a price range that’s comfortable for me. I would agree with some other viewers that the prices are high, but unfortunately it’s our new reality. Everything is expensive, especially quality items!! If you’re looking for gorgeous clothing and shoes for a special event or just want to shop for fun, Ecco is the store you’re looking for. I LOVE this store and the staff and I’m confident you...
