What an awesome coffee shop, I really enjoyed stopping at muddy waters, read on to find out why: 1. Extremely friendly staff. The individual that helped me get my food and coffee was a joy to chat with. It’s always nice to go into a place and and have a conversation that is more than surface level. Seems like people care here. 2. The coffee was fantastic and fast!! The perfect combination for what I needed that day. Gave me a little time back so I could walk around before I needed to meet with coworkers. 3. The location is perfect. Great spot right downtown. Easy walk to the water. 4. Food is great too! I would definitely recommend getting something to eat here as well. Highly recommended, I added a few photos of the space if you want to get an idea of what it looks like.

Muddy Waters has always been such an amazing local coffee shop and we missed it terribly during quarantine but it’s back and with a fun new twist- it’s full of quarantine monsters!!! You have to go just for the art installations. There have been 3 monsters out front for a while but there must be around 10more unique monsters inside! Additionally, Muddy’s is still serving some delicious coffee, lattes, and espresso drinks as well as a range of unique and delicious looking pastries, breads, and bagels. The bagels are always really fresh and not too chewy (you HAVE to try the spinach and everything bagels). LGBTQ friendly, local, and with so many delicious options, Muddy Waters is a Burlington cafe you need to stop by whether you are a local or just visiting!

I’ve been to many, many coffee shops… but Muddy Waters is SO unique! This coffee feels like you walked into a cabin in the woods with some of Jim Henson‘s Muppets/creations/art chilling with you for some coffee. It was seriously SO unique - and different! It took me awhile to “see” and “take it all in” before venturing up to the barista counter to order my delicious oat milk latte. In a land of a million “cookie cutter coffee shops” - Muddy Waters stands out as a diamond in the rough for SURE! Even if you don’t care for coffee- come in to see this really unique spot. Get a cup of coffee and “chill” with these Muppets

I had to write a review of this place- its that good. During my recent trip to Vermont I have been to a number of coffee shops. Heck, I love a good coffee shop hoping for a barista, which is like finding a unicorn these days. I’ve been to a lot of coffee shops in a lot of places, but I can say that was the best breve I’ve ever tasted. Went back the next day.. another perfect breve- consistently the best crafted breve I’ve seen or tasted.

There are a lot of coffee shops around Burlington. This one has the funk, the atmosphere, the baristas, and an excellent menu of drinks. The others I’ve tried (I won’t name them, but also high on the review list on google) were decent, but this is another level. It is not for everyone- thank goodness! Nothing good ever is, but if you enjoy a real crafted beverage, it is worth trying- the atmosphere and seating make the place that...

Ugh. High hopes as Muddy Water was recommended by a friend. Worst service I’ve experienced in a while. Brunette working this morning didn’t greet us at all as we stood in front of her for about 5 minutes. Totally understand that she was working on the order in front of us, but at least say “Hello, I’ll be right with you” or at the very least make eye contact and smile? It was so awkward. She was just standing in front of us on the POS system and never even looked up at us. Anyway — a girl from the back finally came out and took our order, again, not particularly friendly. They didn’t have cold brew today. My boyfriend got an undrinkable iced americano so we threw it out and went a short drive to Kru Coffee where we were greeted instantly by a bubbly barista and had delicious coffees in a brighter more...
