I've lived in Montana for 45 years but this was my first visit to the Folk Festival. We went on Sunday. The musical groups that we saw were all interesting at the very least and some were pretty danceable. Kiki Valera y Son Cubano fell into the danceable category, Chaksampa fell in the interesting and educational category. I enjoyed all of the music that we listened to.
We only went to two different venues, ARCO Granite Street and The Original. I liked The Original the best as it had grass to sit on.
Vendors that I patronized: My favorite food was the drunken noodles from Tum Tum Thai. I also liked the sampler from Mountain Man Kettle Corn.

The Festival is always help in Butte, MT in July. 21 different musical groups representing world cultures perform in rotation on 5 different stages. There is truly something for everyone. The festival is FREE and runs like a well tuned machine up and down the hills of historic uptown Butte.
