If you’re shopping for an RV in Alabama, go see Steve at Bish’s in Calera. This was our very first RV purchase, and he completely changed my expectations of what buying one could be like.
This was our third stop out of five RV places in Calera, and we even drove to Anniston the following weekend to keep looking. At every other dealership, the pressure was nonstop. My phone didn’t stop ringing with calls and texts from sales reps who seemed more interested in closing a deal than listening to what I actually wanted. With Steve, it was the complete opposite. He showed us what we asked to see, never rushed us, never pressured us, and—most importantly—he respected our time. He didn’t blow up my phone all week like the others. That alone set him apart.
When I finally saw something I liked, I called him back to ask if Bish’s had something comparable. He told me yes, and when we went to see it, we instantly fell in love. Only after we decided this was “the one” did Steve start talking about financing and paperwork. There was never any of that “you have to put money down today” push we felt everywhere else.
And let me just say—another huge difference was the fees. Bish’s RV doesn’t play games like some other dealerships. While others tried to stack on thousands in extra charges, Bish’s was honest and transparent from the start. That gave us real peace of mind.
The day we picked up our Go Play 118BHS was honestly unforgettable. Bish’s made it feel like a true VIP event. We were led behind a velvet rope, almost like a red-carpet reveal, to our new RV waiting for us—AC already on, fully hooked up, and shining like it was meant to be ours all along. It really felt like they rolled out the red carpet just for us. Wes, who walked us through every detail, was fantastic. He didn’t just read off a checklist; he gave honest advice, shared his own opinions, and made sure we really understood the ins and outs of our camper. It felt like talking to a friend who wanted us to enjoy this RV as much as he enjoyed showing it.
After we got it home, Steve even followed up with a text to make sure everything was going smoothly. When I told him I couldn’t get the outside compartment locks to work, he explained it was user error—and sure enough, he was right. That follow-through after the sale meant a lot.
For anyone shopping around: even if you find something you like at another lot, give Steve at Bish’s a call. He’ll work with you to find something comparable without making you feel like you’re being sold to. That kind of no-pressure, respectful approach is rare in this industry.
Oh, and as a tall guy (6’4”), let me add this—our new RV has a shower I can actually use comfortably! That might not matter to everyone, but for me, it sealed the deal.
All around, this was a 5-star experience from start to finish. I’d recommend Bish’s Calera—and especially Steve—to anyone looking for an RV. This was our first time buying, and they made it a memory we’ll never forget.

Read moreCan you give 6 stars?! We decided we wanted to look at a 5th wheel. We bought a travel trailer, first one, just 10 months ago. We showed up to the grand opening of Bish’s Calera. Saw the 23ML and really liked it. Went back the next weekend and met Steve. He was great to talk with. Absolutely zero pressure. We decided to pull the trigger. The manager, Scott was very personable and treated us like family. Nate and James took time to help us figure out the right hitch but we ultimately swapped out the king pin for a gooseneck mount. I wanted to keep my bed available when not towing. On the day of the walkthrough we brought our trade and they gave it a gold star with no issues and we were good to go. Wes did our walkthrough and answered all of our questions. This is our first 5th wheel and he made sure we weren’t rushed and had time to ensure we were comfortable. Sora helped out with the final signatures and is so bubbly and sweet. Wes helped hook us up and off we went. As the new guys in town I was throughly impressed. I’ve always heard good things about Bish’s and was excited when they came to town. KEEP UP...
Read moreI was looking forward to buying the 2025 Alliance Paradigm. Steve and his manager agreed to my purchase on Friday, so I got a call from Steve, letting me know they dropped the ball after the signatures and deposit were made. Don't allow Bish to cut corners with what the RVs are supposed to come with. The new paradigm had no slide toppers, battery, or suspension system and was still trying to give a full price. So, I drove 3 hours to go to Blue Compass in Macon. Let me tell you that you will not be disappointed. Blue Compass's service is far beyond the crooks from the Bish and Camping world. I got my new Paradigm with everything it was supposed to have. The service is phenomenal, and they take their service very seriously. Everyone meets and greets you. Blue Compass also provides a 1-year warranty over 100 locations in the country at no charge, and if you need any repairs, they will take...
