Kroger — Local services in Calhoun

This is one of the worst Kroger stores I’ve ever been in. I tried to give it a fighting chance but I give up.

Starting off, as soon as you walk in you are smacked in the face with a stinky fish smell (more on that later) 🤢 Not a good sign. The deli people seem incredibly incompetent. There’s one deli lady that acts like it’s her first day on earth, another that’s just straight up RUDE. The bakery has one tiny lady in it who is very loud (but seems fun). Produce is DISGUSTING. Everything is rotten, every time I have been inside. It’s like they don’t even check the stuff…just throw it out there. Or maybe no one even works and the same stuff just lays on the table and goes bad. Fruit flies everywhere. Mold. Stinky stinky potatoes. Although I have seen one man working over there who loudly just complains about what he has to do but obviously isn’t doing anything.

Back to the stinky fish….the meat area is a joke. Stuff in the specialty service area looks like it’s been sitting in that glass for DAYS. And it STINKS! Everything looks dried out and brown. That fish is gonna make someone sick as all get out. Half the meats on the shelf are brown or out of date and not reduced. The meats they have reduced, I wouldn’t feed to my mother in law. There’s only one kid over there that is nice. Tall fella with long curly hair. There is one guy that’s always over there talking and cussing real loud for everyone to hear. Very unprofessional. Another guy that I think is in charge over ther(at least what his badge says) seems like a real jerk and clearly isn’t doing his job. A lady works over there and seems to work hard but why is the meat brown?!

Dairy seems nice and well stocked. Middle of the store seems ok. There’s always an Indian guy and a short fella filling stuff up and they do good job it seems but maybe they can teach the other spots how to do better.

Bathrooms stink to high heavens. What are the people of Calhoun eating?! Is it the brown meat…or the rotten apples…🤔

Pharmacy people look like they’d rather be anywhere else in the world.

Cashier people seem friendly enough but not enough to make me want to come back, ever.

Today i went to get gifts for my wife for a gender reveal and when i called the bakery to ask if they could fill cupcakes with pink filling they were very rude and hung up on me after saying it was not possible to do. I went to management and thanks to Tristen i got what i needed. The ladies in the bakery were very rude and didnt want to help me even in person and when they were asked why not one of the ladies said she wasnt working over and she had a kid to pick up, then went on to say it wouldnt be done till tomorrow morning. I understand her being upset but it was very unprofessional. Luckily tristen the manager got one of the employees to do it for me and he did a very good job in about 10 minutes. My family was surprised and after a bad day dealing with rude people it ended up being a really good day. I would love to give it 5 stars because they are usually always nice and do a great job but after today id have to say the ladies in the bakery really shocked me. I want to thank tristen for everything she made it possible for my wife and me and to the man in the bakery that did it for us THANK YOU! You did an awesome job and our family loved them. Ill probably be back to get another dozen or so. Hopefully this time it isnt as bad or ill be...

This is the most awful, mismanaged Kroger store that I've ever had the misfortune of living near. On Friday evenings, when patrons are there taking advantage of the 4X fuel points, this is when they decide to only open one register with a human being. The self checkout registers are full with about seven or eight patrons waiting. This evening, the attendant who had no sense of urgency about him, began helping another customer at the same time that my POS machine was barking at me to "Make sure and scan every item" followed by "Help is on the way." I always Scan every item! I don't know if something needs to be tweaked on the stupid machines or what! That being said, by the time the attendant was finished with the one customer, without checking his device to see that I had been waiting for more than 10 minutes, he just went to the next person he saw who had a problem. This is not a one-off! This is every other time I'm in that store. Only person I've encountered in that store who is fit to be a manager is a meat department guy with brown hair and a goatee, whose name I do not know. This guy is always on the spot and just oozes customer service. I wish that guy was...
