China Palace Restaurant — Restaurant in Calhoun

This was a horrible experience. From customer service to the food.

Looked on Google for traditional Chinese. Found China Palace in Calhoun. Online menu but no website.

Called to place order for pickup. The guy could speak maybe 2 English words. Then told us the menu online prices were wrong. The price doubled!!!

Get there. Food nots ready. Tells me the bill is $110. I have a 8 person family. So I give him my credit card. He cokes back with a charge of $1,100.00 !!!!! When I show him he says sorry. Again he doesn't speak much English. Took him making 3 phone calls, 30 extra mins to figure out how to refund me $1100!!!

Got food home. Fried rice is fried but with only onion. No peas, no carrots, no egg and it tasted so bland. Lo.mein noodles also lacking veggies and super bland. Everything else was very bland and blah.

Do NOT order here. Horrible food at super high prices. And no customer service at all. If you decide to order, pay close attention to what they...

Okay so I knocked down their score on the atmosphere because this is a takeaway place and I still have all the lexan guards up across the front counter where you have to order through a slide hole and pay through a slide hole all the way back to the pandemic. They've never removed it, but that's their position and it doesn't really affect. It's just aesthetically poor I ordered hot and sour soup to go and instead of having a cauldron of soup and then just throwing it in the container to go. Since you can see the kitchen I witnessed them taking out tofu slicing it up, taking out mushrooms, slicing them out, taking out other items, lemongrass etc. Then starting in the wok with some broth I could see them crack of fresh egg. Use all the fresh ingredients and make my soup to order. You don't get that in Chinese restaurants normally. No matter how much you're spending, I applaud them on making the soup to order. And because of it the soup...

I wouldnt even rate this 1 star...i work near there,...like 2 minutes Away I had 2 packages to drop off at the pacquiao so I walked in and placed an order for 2 plates the lady charges made $22 some change she said 10 minutes I said OK I'll go next door to Sally's I was in there 15 minutes or 12 it's a 10 minute or 20 I walked back in there and the lady just started cooking our food so it had been over 30 minutes I got home that eat our food the chickenan eggroll is so overcooked we literally couldn't eat it! I called the place to let them know and she said everyone say good, bye, an hung...
