Visit: 3/9/2024 There's "mushroom" for improvement... My recent visit to Mushrooms on Main left much to be desired. While the shop itself was charming, my experience was marred by a few unfortunate incidents.
Upon entering, I was greeted by the owner's dog who was overly enthusiastic and JUMPED ON ME, scratching my legs and handbag. I firmly asked the dog to step back (commanding "OFF"); unfortunately, this seemed to offend the owner who appeared extremely displeased with my request for her to control her dog.
Despite this initial hiccup, I decided to browse the shop with my friends and we all ended up purchasing a lovely mushroom/woman-shaped candle. I couldn't help but feel unwelcome in the shop, which is never a pleasant experience as a customer. To cleanse the negativity associated with that candle, I melted it in a pot on my stove - ha!
Overall, Mushrooms on Main has potential, but the customer experience could be greatly improved with a friendlier attitude from the owner (control your pet to avoid future confrontation!). A little warmth and hospitality can go a long way in making visitors feel welcome and...

It was Memorable Weekend so most varieties were sold out except for one. I prepared it as Jenn suggested and the family loved it.
We were in Morro this past weekend and I had to go back for more! I purchased 3 different types of mushrooms (forgot to take pictures)of the other 2, but can tell you they were delicious. My apologies.
The nice part is Jenn will also help with/recommend how to prepare the mushrooms if you ask. This is one of those gems I'd drive the 2.5 hours to get quality mushrooms.
Jen is wonderful and knows her mushrooms. If you like cooking with mushrooms than this place is worth a visit...
