Hello, I adopted a black 10 month old female kitten from you almost 2 years ago which sadly and unfortunately didn't work out . I went through all paperwork , background check, and all check out with cost 300.00 which I had no problem paying for my new pet friend . When my daughter and I brought her home we didn't notice anything wrong bc we were under the impression that the animals are all healthy and up to date with shots ect . We drove from Marshfield Massachusetts so it was a little hike as but so excited we didnt care that it was Fresh Pond location. When we got there she seem healthy and was told she was in good health but after having her for almost 2 month i notice something was or seemed wrong when noticing how she was having a difficult time eating , it looked to me her mouth was hurting so I immediately brought her to the Marshfield Veterinarian and that's when I was told all her gums were infected and that she would need extensive surgery over a 1000.00 worth to repare the damage that she had for years as the vet explained that this damage if gums takes time to inhabit. I was so sorry she had been suffering for so long and it mef me angry that this adoption agency didn't know about it! The very next day I called Pet Smart and told them what was going on and that I couldn't come up with a thousand dollars and they should of at least taken care of her or known she had this suffering condition before they allowed her to be adopted. They are supposed to have animals in good health or at least know about the conditions so it can be fixed or treated with in would of done but the vet said she would end up loosing her teeth so I was devastated of this hole thing and they came and brought her back . I ask them to please keep me informand and I would gladly take her back after surgery and fed her only soft food but I never heard from them again and like I said its been a while bc I don't like to leave negative comments or reviews that are heart braking and unfair. So I lost 300.00 but more heart ache than anything ! I only wish I knew how she doing now , if had surgery or if she is even still with us ! Maybe after this someone might lmk she was only a kitten of 10 month all black with beautiful green eye and its been a while now so I would hope if they can't lmk about her then they could offer me another kitten since I feel over 2 years gone by I'm probably ready to love another animal again bc it hurts when you loose them even if only a few months I had her . They owe me that much ! And hope Fartisimo isn't suffering anymore...
Read moreCouldn't recommend them more! My boyfriend and I had been in serious consideration of adopting a kitten, and after applying to several shelters in the greater Boston area, we had no luck of getting any responses from anyone except Broken Tail Rescue. We submitted an application at 7 pm on a Friday night and got an extremely quick response from Brooke just two hours later. We were approved for adoption only a day later after a few more questions about our eligibility for adoption and were told no kittens were currently available but we would be notified as soon as there were. That was more than fine - we were happy just to get a response from someone (after leaving multiple voicemails, emails, and social media messages to other shelters with zero responses) and were willing to wait however long we had to for a kitten. However, the next Tuesday, just four days after we submitted our initial application, we were contacted about two kittens who were getting spayed and would be ready for adoption later that week. The foster family contact, Maria, was phenomenal - she sent us several photos and videos of both kittens with thorough descriptions of both of their personalities as well as answered all of our questions in the days leading up to us meeting them. When the day came, she allowed us as much time as we needed to spend with both kittens before deciding which one to take home, and sent us back with all the appropriate vet records and her favorite blanket and toys. She's also kept in touch afterwards to keep answering all our kitty questions and provide advice for helping her feel most at home. Since then our new kitten has adjusted super quickly to her new forever home, and I can't help but credit that to her amazing foster family for socializing and providing for her so well! We really couldn't be happier with our experience with...
Read moreI started the process of surrendering my elderly mother’s cat almost a month ago with no luck from several other rescue agencies - Amanda from Broken Tail Rescue Cambridge took me under her wing and helped me get Hunter surrendered and the process went very smoothly. Amanda really cares for others and you can tell with her quick responses to emails and following up with the situation. I’m not sure I can truly thank her enough for helping me. And the drop off at Sleepy Dog Vet in Arlington Massachusetts couldn’t have gone smoother and made me feel at ease that Hunter would be taken care of. The people there were super super nice. Thank you, Broken Tail Rescue, Cambridge And thank you Amanda again for all your hard work....
