The Cannon Beach Escape Room — Local services in Cannon Beach

What a fun and much needed addition to Cannon Beach! I visited the Escape room for the opening weekend and had a blast. If you have never been to an escape room, here's the deal - you and a small group of people are "locked" in a room (with a theme, in this case it looked like Captains Quarters on a pirate ship). After a short explanatory video, you have to scour the room for clues to unlock a series of puzzles that lead to your escape from the room, all within an hour.

The other people in my group and I didn't know each other at the beginning of the game but by the end we were all working together to figure out all the puzzles. Our group finished in just under an hour but a few of us ended up hanging out for a bit afterwards because we had so much fun working on the game together.

This would be a great thing for families, couples or groups of friends looking for something unique to do, especially on rainy days in...

My husband and I just finished this and we had a wonderful time. It was just the two of us, so time wise, we used almost the full hour.

There was one puzzle (without spoilers: the mirror puzzle) that we had some major issues with that we think should be reworked somehow to make the answer a little more obvious. But maybe that is how it was meant to play out, we aren't sure.

We have no idea why so many reviews mention rude staff?! IT'S ONE DUDE?! AND HE'S REALLY NICE?! Like really. He was welcoming and helpful and friendly. Maybe there is someone else who works there, but the guy we talked to, we get the impression her runs the joint based on the conversation we had with him afterwards and, yeah. He seems like good people.

This is a fun little place to stop into on a rainy day with a loved one or a small group. Today I discovered that I actually enjoy escape rooms thanks to this place...

My large family group (9) had a fantastic time with the escape room. We had a wide variety of ages and none of us had tried an escape room before--we got out with less than a minute to spare!

There were enough puzzles that all 9 of us were running around the whole time, and several puzzles were large enough that we all got to collaborate. It was a great experience, no one was left out, and the difficulty was just right! (We did the easiest room since none of us were familiar with escape rooms. The other ones are more difficult.)
