Eagle Skate Park — Local services in Cape Coral

I’ve been skating for 12 years, competitively, for fun, teach skate lessons, film projects, travel across the country to skate and go to events, and I have never seen a place this littered with rules and regulations. It’s disappointing to see people who don’t appreciate skateboarding try to jump in and make a quick buck off of it.

Skateboarding is about being able to ride however you want, wherever you want and with whoever you want. Putting strict hours, admission fees (with spectator fees? Really?), and dress codes does not support the industry or facilitate healthy culture at all. Many skaters grow up needing a place to go on tough days or a place to express themselves. It’s unfortunate they have to sit up straight and be sure they don’t accidentally slip on one of the many rules here.

I urge these rule makers to put aside your cookie cutter assumptions and stereotypes on who skateboarders are, and allow this facility to be used by the public at no additional cost (I’m sure residents pay plenty in taxes to cover this facility already), and without meaningless rules. We’re not the delinquents many claim we are, we just want to enjoy our passion together without hoops to jump through or...

Just recently started going here, past 3 Saturdays I've come with my daughters and my wife and had an absolute blast. I just got back on my bike after a 7-10 year hiatus, that said the last time I was here, was before the remodel. And I am very very impressed with the new setup. The ramps ride very nice, very smooth transitions and an interesting setup fairly straight forward but I can see allot of neat lines to be had. I have committed myself to coming back every Saturday. The staff is very friendly concessions are cheap and the accommodations for the riders and parents is very nice(pavilion with misters and fans). We are not a skate boarding family, this was my son's first attempt. That being said I don't have any idea how awesome the ramps are... But they looked nice. I do know we had a wonderful birthday party outside, under a covered picnic area. The party was before regular business hours, so the newbies had the area to themselves. The parents could watch them bike, skooter, and skateboard throughout the two hour party, while enjoying the shade! The kids also enjoyed pizza and drinks.
