Recently discovered Zotter chocolates. Of the mindset that good chocolate is good chocolate, and there probably isn’t much variation, I skipped right over the standard chocolate bars and purchased a selection of mouthwatering flavor combinations in the hand scooped range. Oh my goodness! Each flavor I’ve had has been as splendid as, or better than, the previous. I open a bar and think that I’m going to nibble away at it for a couple days, but I don’t think a bar has ever made it more than a couple hours in my home without being fully consumed. These wonderful hand scooped bars have instantly become my most favorite chocolate bars ever! I look forward to continuing to try the new brilliant flavor profiles, as well as return to the ones I’ve discovered how much I already love. I honestly don’t think I ever need to eat another brand’s chocolate bar again. What a special creation your team has come up with! So grateful for the creativity, care, and consideration which is so obviously put into each treat. The quality of the chocolate is top notch, and has a delicate scent as well as a sharp crisp when it breaks. The ingredients are quality as well – not cloyingly sweet, not over done, just the right amount and ratio of filling to chocolate. The packaging is beautiful – I love the artwork on each label, and unwrapping each bar is like unwrapping a small gift. The shipping has been quick and professional, and the bars stored in such a way that I have not experienced any melting or oxidation or breakdown of the candies. A top-notch operation, so happy you have a location in the U.S. and that I don’t have to ship these all the way from Europe! Keep doing what you are doing! This was my first time ordering from Zotter Chocolate and it will be my last. I just got off the phone with Barbara at Zotter Chocolate and informed her that the chocolate I ordered had melted as it was shipped without ice. She told me that we have a cold front here in Florida and chocolate melts at 86 degrees. I told her that it's 72 outside, the chocolate was sitting in my metal mailbox in the sun and it is melted. She kept interrupting and arguing with me despite me stating several times that I did not want a refund nor a replacement (I simply put it in the refrigerator) and that I was just calling as a courtesy to inform her that this might be an issue they would like to address for future orders. I reiterated that I was calling out of courtesy and didn't want anything. I asked her to stop being so defensive and told her I did not wish to argue with her. She told me to stop yelling at her, which of course I was not. What she didn't like was that I would not let her interrupt and speak over me. She hung up on me. All this over chocolate! I order chocolates for my wife and clients throughout the year, from chocolatiers all over the world. I thought I would try something new. Terrible first experience, unnecessary impression to give a new customer and completely unprofessional. I will be posting my experience everywhere I can and will most certainly not allow my company to do business with Zotter. So much for supporting...

We're lucky in this day and age: chocolate makers are everywhere, bean-to-bar shops who know the nuts and bolts of the work, from soil to your mouth. There are some splendid chocolate makers these days, and many of them.

Even among the finest, Zotter is one of a kind. If there were a bright Willy Wonka in our world, a place where chocolate was loved and treasured, where the produce of the labor was astonishing to the tongue--where bright colors and riveting artwork decorated every excellent piece, it would be Zotter.

And it is. You can't go wrong with a Zotter bar, not any of them. They range from really good to simply stellar, and with all the chocolate I've tasted, I'm hard to impress.

Zotter is my go-to. From milk to 100%, it's some of the best in the world.

Let me add that these chocolates are made with love, or at least a crazy delight. Meet the family, as I have, and you can only conclude that cacao runs in their blood. It's clear that they adore the work, and the results show it.

And finally, you won't often see customer service this good. I ordered a box of bars, it was here in a few days, and it was perfect.
