This is my first bad review and I hate to write this due to one incident. I would’ve overlooked it, but sadly it was done by the owner. Yesterday, was the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight (a big deal, if you’re into it) they put on their Facebook saying they were going to be open and showing the fight. Fights go late so I decided to call after 9:00 pm and see if they were still showing the fight. They said yes. I get there and ask for 2 espresso martinis and an Mich ultra. I get one espresso martini and one Mich ultra. The owner passes by and I let him know that I am missing an espresso martini. He decides to remake the one the server made and gets me the correct order. As we cheers and begin to drink the drinks, they give me the check, they start mopping and cleaning up. The main fight, the reason we went there, hadn’t even started. I ask them if they want us to leave. They say “no stay” and proceed to shut off the lights. Like wtf? So I have to chug the drinks I paid for because they’re closing when they said they were going to be open? As we’re exiting they are right behind us locking up. The owner looks at me, mutters something, and shrugs. Don’t say you’re going to be open then push us out by making us feel super uncomfortable. This is why I called. I wouldn’t have paid for an Uber to get there or for drinks. Then they take the facebook post down. A little more respect, an apology, or just said no you were closing when I called before I left my house. They’re a local business that we supported a lot and we were treated this way. Well, even if it was our first time there, still not the way an...
Read moreThis was a Grubhub delivery order; first time from Bayside Burger & Grill. The delivery went well and the driver got the food here quickly and it was packaged well. Unfortunately the food wasn’t good. Grilled Chicken sandwich ($17): the good size chicken breast was grilled too long; and so it was tough and practically impossible to chew. The Patty Melt ($17) was cooked too long as well. The Greek Salad ($17) was “Greek” by name only as some of the ingredients would not be in a Greek salad, like chickpeas & beets. The fries ($5) were too coated; I couldn’t taste the potato underneath. The onion rings were OK; at $10 they should have been better than just OK. The large soft Pretzel ($16) was large & very good; it is the one enjoyable item. I sliced it open, put some butter on it and it was practically the only thing I ate. Sometimes one takes a chance ordering from a new place. But as the menu in general had the type of food we felt like eating we went ahead. I never have a problem with the cost if the food is good. At a total of $130 it was...
Read moreI went for lunch on a Wednesday with a friend. I got the cheeseburger, she had the patty melt. I cleaned my plate, cept for a few fries, because there were plenty! And they were deliciously seasoned and yummy hot on delivery. This is a sports bar, so not really our vibe as two stylish boomers, but we are always searching out yummy lunch spots. We think there were about 20 TVs, so must be great for sports people. Bayside will stay in the rotation because the food was fabulous, the bartender/server was adorable, attentive and delightful. Lunch for 2 including one soda and one wine for $42, plus tip is pretty average, maybe on the low end for the many places we’ve been over the past few years. The establishment is clean, friendly, easy to find; what more can...
