We were new to the area and live 5 minutes away. We have never gone to an Aldi before, so we were pretty excited to see what it was about. We were unprepared for the shopping cart situation because we had never needed to put a quarter in to get a shopping cart (when you return the cart you get your quarter back). Which is fine, we just didn't have change and, although there were employees walking around, no one asked if we needed any helped or acknowledged us at all. I'm sure we looked really confused. I asked an employee and they said we need a quarter and that was all. I guess I thought they would help us to get a shopping cart in some way? I'm sure we aren't the first people caught off guard with the shopping cart quarter situation. FYI it was a weekday mid-morning, so almost no customers at the time. We gave up on getting a cart and decided we could hold whatever we might buy in our hands. Oh, and we had our toddlers with us, a 4 year old and a 2 year old (they would have been seated in the shopping cart). We did get a few things which we held in our arms while trying to keep our kids close to us. We get to the register and a female cashier (heavy set, maybe mid to late 30s) was ringing us up, she bagged the items we got. The whole time we are struggling with our toddlers (bc they weren't secure in a shopping cart). Well, when it was time to go, we picked up the bags and THE BOTTOM OF THE BAGS BROKE AND EVERYTHING FELL ONTO THE FLOOR. THEN THE FEMALE CASHIER CASUALLY SAID, "Oh, I guess I forgot to double bag them" and continued to ring up the next person in line. This was extremely EMBARRASSING, AND NO EMPLOYEES CARED AT ALL. I HAD TO GRAB BOTH TODDLERS WHILE MY SPOUSE SCRAMBLED TO PICK UP OUR STUFF OFF THE GROUND AND ASK FOR MORE BAGS. We were trying to keep calm and just get out of there. I felt like everyone was staring at us (except the person who rang us up, she acted like we were invisible) THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD AT A GROCERY STORE, WE NEVER WENT BACK AND WE WILL...
Read moreI love this store. However, when there is a long line you have to ask the cashier to request backup even though they have cashiers available. They usually respond quickly but if you don’t ask they will keep 1 line open no matter how long the line or wait.
As of 6/28/24, adjusted rating from a “2” to a “0”. At approx 4:40pm today, long line, one cashier. As always, I requested a backup cashier and the same guy ignored me. After the 3rd request, he called for backup. No change since my last review over a month ago highlighting the same issue. Finally, a backup cashier came and she appeared to be upset.
Cashiers/Management: please be proactive and request backup when the line is long. This is a management problem since it appears it’s the norm to operate business with 1 cashier at this location. 😕
Update as of 7/16/25: nothing has changed. Today there was a long line. The cashier stated there were only 2 people in the store. I found out last month that there is a new regional manager who doesn’t care so don’t waste your time. Sprouts is opening in Carson in the near future & customer service will be...

Sadly this passed Friday 4/03/2024 a not so friendly looking like from band member but don't have a band employees was not helping when I ask if he can check a price on the aisle because it was make down. He only scan it and told me it was regular price. When literally I'm ask him to come and check. He stared me down like we were in a wild wild west movie. 2: after that encounter. My 8 year old son had to use the restroom (number2). Same employee walks in the restroom before us and walk out. I proceed to walk towards the door and he pulled the basket in front of us telling me, " it was closed because it's closing time." It was 8:40 PM 20 minutes before closing time. I mentioned to the employee it's not for my use is for my son he has to go, he deny my son using the restroom. I had to walk to Chipotle to use their restroom. After this encounter is making me think twice of stepping into this Aldi I'll probably visit a different one. Dude if you don't like your job don't be rude to others that all. ...
