In addition to the extremely poor condition of the inventory, I was verbally abused and treated very disrespectfully by a Ross employee named “Joan” who treated another customer in the same fashion. Joan screamed at a customer in the fitting room area and then turned her ire on me when I simply asked the location of the restrooms. She barked “we don’t have any restrooms back here”. When I clarified that I was asking about the presence of a restroom in the store generally - not the fitting room specifically -she screamed at me and lied that the store had no restrooms (the manager Hortensia later advised me that this was untrue and that the “bathrooms were down” - whatever that means). I informed “Joan” that I didn’t appreciate being verbally abused and she responded that she “had already reported me (for what, I have no idea) - apparently in an effort to intimidate me. Her improper and unprofessional behavior towards me and the other customer appeared to be motivated entirely by racial bias. My retort was, of course, that I’d be reporting HER to Ross corporate and management. I asked several employees to get the manager for me so that I might file a formal complaint. I had to ask THREE different employees to get the manager before, after some time, “Hortensia” the manager on duty came over. She appeared entirely unconcerned by the abusive conduct simply stating “I will try to speak to her.” I also advised the manager of improperly charged/labelled items, the extreme long lines at the checkout (only one cashier was on duty the entire time) and the overall poor condition of the store. A horrific and miserable experience that I will be reporting to the Civil and Human...
Read moreI loved Ross until Last week I went to Ross to pick out some items for my family. Took my items at the counter and fully paid for them, as I was getting out the alarm went off, security commanded me to go back to the counter , made me feel like a typical thief, the cashier went through my items she her self had packed for one by one, all the customers looking at me waiting for me to be unveiled as a big time thief like all we black people are perceived🙄. Turns out the cashier had left a tag inside the pocket of the shorts I had paid for. This made me soo embarrassed and made me feel like a low life. I will take my money to Burlington next time I go shopping . One of the customer ran to me and asked me to sue them but I have no such time for strife. Am a full time registered nurse who wants to go out shop and relax when I get time out of my...
Read moreI will NEVER shop at this rag mart disguised as a customer friendly store!
I was preparing to buy a clothing item and had to use the bathroom.
There is no posted restroom sign.
I asked the guard where the restrooms were and he told me to go to the fitting room and the attendant would show me where the restrooms were.
I went there and the attendant told me the restrooms were all closed permanently, supposedly due to someone pooping on the floor of one of them!
I asked her what that had to do with normal customers, she said it was store policy.
WHAT A CROC! (Literally)!
Very disrespectful to paying customers and I suspect against zoning ordinances not to have functioning and accessible bathrooms for shoppers!
My money and comfort will forever be...
