Buyer Beware...

This place sucks! It seems that they have a no return policy on a product line of bolts, nuts and other fasteners by the name: "Hillman"

All kinds of problems with this policy exist!

1. No one made me aware of this policy when I made the purchase. I worked with a man who couldn't find the size that I was actually looking for but the nature of my project meant that I was somewhat flexible so I thought I would purchase the ones they had and if I found the size I really wanted elsewhere, I would return the big ones he had found and get my money back.
2. The guy at checkout didn't make me aware of this policy.
3. No where on the receipt does it state that this is policy.
4. The bolts and nuts that I purchased do not have the product name on them.
5. The guy at the counter when I tried to make the return had a very snarky attitude and pointed at the wall behind him and said they have signs all over the place about the policy. I only saw one sign that wasn't even close to noticeable and wouldn't have caught any ones attention without someone pointing it out.

I had not even taken the bolts out of the bag, so there was no chance of them being damaged.

I will never walk into this Ace Hardware again and intend to tell everyone I know about their customer...

It is so nice to find a place in today's world that treats you like royalty, I went there the other day because I purchased a double sided dead bolt lock at Home Depot for a security door I just installed. I asked them to re key them so my house key would work in them. Well they told me they don't do that anymore. So I called a couple lock smith places and the prices were ridiculous. So I called Ace and spoke with them and he said to bring it over. It was very close to my location at Home Depot. I went there and was pleasantly surprised at the friendly atmosphere of a beautiful clean store with just about anything you could ever need on the shelves. They showed me to the break room where I could wait while they do it. They even had Dr Pepper, my favorite and offered it to me for free. I am looking forward to my next trip there. I'm changing my review for a couple of reasons. Even though the store "manager" was somewhat rude to my brother, the owner, or other regional manager, called my brother back. My brother brought the one month old and falling apart ice chest back and they gave him another one without me having to take the time to make a copy of my credit card statement to mail out.
