Brought dinner from Romo's located down with the other food services at Ecclesia and sat down at outside table. Romos has great food. I finished and placed plate into the plastic tub outside just in time to sit back down and take an important phone call. Some lady randomly appears and interrupts to question whether I was an Ecclesia customer. That to me was the most absurd, poor business practice I've ever encountered, regardless of whether some non-customers apparently sit at the outside tables. If I hadn't been so focused on my phone conversation, I would have reached into the plastic tub, handed her the dirty plate and told her make herself more useful. Otherwise, this place has a lot of appeal and potential, but it doesn't take much to lose customers. Maybe she should have been looking at the surveillance cameras if it's that problematic.
Pt. II - It's recognized how easy a business can go under, especially when they refuse to be more receptive and conscious about customer interaction. Normally I wouldn't waste time giving a review to an establishment that can't figure out that it IS rude to interrupt a customer in middle of an important phone call; I was in mid-sentence with a doctor and your "property manager" would NOT refrain from interrupting my conversation. If you're "not sure why " " ", that implies a failure to recognize that YES, it's definitely rude to question whether a customer is an actual customer. Your property manager "policing" the area made it a very uncomfortable experience, NOT a welcoming atmosphere. I tried to address it while I was still there. Hopefully you finally get it. No matter how supposedly "friendly" you think it is, making the dining experience disruptive, and unpleasant, translates to an unwelcoming atmosphere. Take the advice or leave it, you're hindering the businesses that struggle to provide quality food downstairs. It now makes sense to avoid Ecclesia and just go to the more welcoming restaurants. Lastly, when there's no one sitting out at your tables (even those non-customers you chase off), people driving by will presume empty tables = NOT worth dining...
Read moreWhat a great idea and pulled off wonderfully. Think of a food cort but with all high-end local shops, each with its own story and unique cuisine. We found the place just searching for some place to eat when we jumped off I-25. We went to try the Brit Stop but found the other shops and where so excited. We also ordered from Garlic & Spice and both places where great. We are planing to return as a monthly trip from Aurora to try all the shops. Yes it was that good, we would make plans to drive 45 min to enjoy some amazing food and support these local vendors. Something I like to mention is about your 4 logged friends. Thay have an open patio that you can use with your pup, but will need to have someone with you to go in and order/get the food. Still a nice option. The only issue we had was so small I hate to mention it but it's good to consider. Parking near can be difficult. With anyplace this good I would expect it but it's worth the effort and a short walk if needed. Can't wait for our next trip to try the...
Read moreFood is great downstairs, and the 3 stars are caused by the woman who runs the place. Not sure if she runs all the eateries downstairs or what? But she was definitely in charge of the burgers and pita place. We ordered food from all 3 places that were open over $100 worth of food. There were coloring books and crayons on a counter (books have obviously been used) we grabbed them for our kids. When she arrived, she confiscated the coloring books as if we were criminals. We were 4 out of 10 customers at this hour. She said, "Those coloring books belong to a business that is closed." Then took then took them. The books were on a countertop, not tucked away, then She walked around all of the businesses down there, as if she owned all of them, so it's quite confusing, and it was just rude. Maybe if you're in the business, you should be more hospitable. We would love to go back because the food is good, but we...
