I hate to write this review, because I have enjoyed coming to the barn since moving to the area, and bringing family and friends here to shop from out of town. I love to support local boutiques and love the concept of this local business. I have spent hundreds of dollars here, and have loved all of my purchases up until now. I also completely understand and respect their return policy. However, I purchased a $50 pair of pants, and knowing and understanding that all sales are final, I removed the tags and washed the item 1x. After washing, before I even got to wear them, two identical holes appeared in the same place. I was disappointed and was hoping I would be able to do an exchange for the exact same pair of pants. After I explained the situation to staff, they were extremely rude, unfriendly, and not willing to work with even loyal customers. I would love to continue shopping here and supporting local businesses, but unless The Barn is willing to work with me or offer some kind of exchange/store credit I will never come back.
I also noticed upon reading other negative reviews that most have been responded to by The Barn in a very negative fashion, which also makes me hesitant to support a business that is not willing to go above and beyond for even loyal customers. The responses I read from The Barn, towards their negative reviews, were not only written in a rude and argumentative fashion (which is honestly the response I am now expecting from this review, which is unfortunate itself), but they were also negating and diminishing the experiences of others with their business. Therefore, if no amends can be made, I will no longer support this business due to heavily preventable factors. Read moreDon’t get me wrong, I love the concept of the place but I had a terrible experience and will no longer support this business. I was in downtown castle rock for the lighting of the Rock and I decided to go look in the barn. My friend and I were walking upstairs and she started to feel dizzy so we sat down in one of their chairs. There were no signs prohibiting it. I was sitting for a maximum of 3 minutes when the owner came up to us furious. He immediately kicked us out and said he’d need to check my friends bag. She keeps it with her for low blood sugar problems. He said “This isn’t a playground, get out.” I gave an oath to never lie, cheat, or steal when I joined CAP and I live by that. To have someone accuse us of that is disgusting and unnecessary. If he truly had suspicions of us stealing, he could have nicely asked to take a look at her bag. I would’ve taken everything out of pockets even. I tried to have a friendly conversation with him but he wouldn’t have it. When he was leading us down the stairs, he grabbed my arm which was unnecessary as well since I was complying with his instructions. Read moreMy mom took me and some friends to The Barn for the first time. I must say we were NOT impressed at all!! We don't live very close, so we spent the day shopping around Parker and Castle Rock. Now I will say we got there before closing, but and I will say BUT again, one of the ladies in the store told us to come in and shop. We were only in there for about 5 minutes, when two of the other ladies told us very rudely they were closing the register and we should leave now. My mom had already picked one thing to buy and she put it by the lady at the register and we were kicked out. I told them it was not ok to invite us in and then turn right around and kick paying customers out!!!!! We will NEVER, NEVER go back!!!!!!!!!! Plus, not only did they lose our business, but there was a group of five that went in before us and these ladies did the same thing to them. There was also a lady getting ready to go in when we got kicked out, so I told her what they did and she said she won't give them her business either. This place has great potential, but they really need to get better people to work in there! So sad... You'll never get my business! I would recommend going to any of the other cute stores around there, hopefully they have better customer...
