The ONLY reason my review is 1 star is due to today's events. I've lived in Castle Rock for 2 decades, been a huge supporter of small business and love my town, but today, it fell short. My sister and I are "brown", we noticed a tall elderly white man in a turquoise polo and white shorts (in his 70's) following us around the minute we entered the space. He was literally in every cubby we stopped at and constantly looking at us, then my sister realized he'd followed us from The Barn and followed us around there too. He was obvious so I acknowledged to his face by the infused water to 'stop following us'...and he suddenly did, almost immediately he disappeared. Once we were checking out, THERE HE WAS AGAIN, ENTERING THRU THE FRONT DOORS! And guess what, the employees acknowledged him as an employee! He didn't follow anyone else, because the majority of folks were white. This is the first time I've been profiled at The Barn & The Emporium, and it's disgusting. We will not be returning but I'm guessing management would like that. TO ALL SHOPPERS - IF YOU ARE PROFILED HERE, POST IT, the small business owners who need the sales are losing them when locals like me decide to never come back because of the...
Read moreI will say the store was really nice but my check out experience ruined any enjoyment I had with this store. We were on vacation traveling thru and were going to visit The Barn. Great by the way. The Emporium was next door. We walked around and made our selections. Ready to check out. My aunt was with me with her selections as well. I was told the other lady on the other side of the counter would help me. I walked over to the other side. Was never greeeted or spoken to during the whole process. Oh except for the price! I was so angry. Her name is SUE and if you do go there and purchase I do hope SUE has learned some manners by then. Wish I had not purchased anything from this overpriced store for my granddaughter and definitely when back in the area will NOT revisit. That experience ruined the rest of our evening as my aunt didn’t have the most pleasureable experience with her lady either. Sue please at the very least acknowledge the customer. Last I heard this was basic customer service 101. I see a few have had poor service as well. The owner only seems to respond to her positive feedback but never acknowledges the poor service such as I am sorry you had...
Read moreI bought a Coco & Carmen purse there and 28 days after purchasing it the strap that was sewn on, the stitching was coming out and the strap was about to come detached. When I took it back to show them, they have a seamstress but since she couldn't fit the purse under her industrial sewing machine, they couldn't help me. I spoke to the "wholesale buyer" of the purse and she said "I can't return that to the company." She recommended I take it to a shoe repair place. I asked if she would pay for it, she said it depends on the cost. Luckily, when I explained my situation to the shoe repair place, he only charged me $10. She did pay for the repair but as she was getting the $10 out of her purse to reimburse me, she said "I don't normally do this." I'm glad this worked out for me but I won't buy from there again based on how they treat their customers when their product is faulty. They have a sign that says "all sales final", so beware....that means even if...
