Ulta Beauty — Local services in Cathedral City

I went to this Ulta Beauty store in mid-November, hoping to find alternatives to a brand of make up I've been using for a while. The employee that "helped" me at the store seemed to be looking down on me because I'm not super knowledgeable about make up brands or techniques. After she suggested the alternate brand of foundation and concealer, she used some kind of flat tray that didn't look clean to pump out the foundation on, because there weren't any stocked disposable make up tools. She also used a make up brush that was clearly filthy to apply the foundation and concealer on my face, even after I told her that I prefer using a make up sponge to apply make up on myself.

I wasn't going to say anything, up until the next day, when my face started breaking out! And the reason that I know that it was because of the filthy brush she used is because she applied more of the foundation and concealer on the right side of my face to show me what it'd look like with more coverage. I don’t leave reviews but I had the most irritating and uncomfortable experience at this ulta. I came in with my bf & shortly after we went to the fragrance section where we were being watched by a lady with orange/auburn hair with glasses. As soon as I would catching her looking at us she would pull out her phone and pretend like she wasn’t there to watch us. It doesn’t stop there tho… we had another lady with dark hair in a braid who was literally following us throughout the whole store. I even intentionally separated from my bf and waited until this lady walked by watching me. I went back to my bf and he also complained that he was getting followed too. I understand that they obviously have a lot of issues with theft since all of the perfume were locked up but damn it was beyond unnecessary. I will not come back...

I brought my daughter Amelia in for a haircut, and it was one of the most emotional moments I’ve had in a long time. Amelia has Down syndrome and struggles with sensory overload, especially during haircuts. She was not cooperating and became very overwhelmed. I had a great experience with two stylists on shift who went above and beyond , they sang to her, comforted her, and worked together with patience and love to make her feel safe. I truly expected to leave in tears from stress, but I left in tears of gratitude. It was breathtaking to witness that level of kindness and care.
