Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts — Local services in Cedar City

The Beverly center is a wonderful campus for the (primarily) performing arts, plus a museum of art. We go for the Utah Shakespeare Festival which makes use of three dedicated theatres (the indoor Russell Jones theatre which seats about 700-800, the outdoor Elizabethan-inspired traditional theatre that seats about 1000, and the Anes theatre which seats about 200 on 3 sides of the stage). Attended the Utah Shakespearean Festival on July 21 and 22, seeing 3 plays, The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling, and Antony and Cleopatra by Shakespeare. I enjoyed the atmosphere at the plays and it was awesome to have the last play in the outdoor theater but even with a play orientation, it was difficult to follow, which is to be expected but there was an extremely long intermission which made the production seem especially long.
