Don’t rely on the online ordering system here. If your item is cancelled, make sure you go look for it anyways because if the workers don’t want to look for it, they will refund you and not care that you didn’t get what you wanted. Ordered yarn here at 9:40 AM today (I had visited the store the previous day and saw they actually had a decent selection) and every single skein of yarn was canceled from my order but one. Went looking for it on the shelf and there it was, sitting in plain sight. And then after cancelling my yarn simply because they didn’t feel like looking hard enough, made a big deal about giving me the 25% off that I would’ve gotten had they not cancelled my order. Making excuses that there’s different sizes of the yarn and that it just came in yesterday (even though I had ordered it that morning so that wasn’t a valid excuse anyways) on top of the manager there being really rude and saying things like “whatever” “I don’t care” and acting like a $1.70 discount on my yarn would absolutely kill her. I work in retail and know how hard it can be, but at my place of work this would not fly. Teach people to pick orders if you don’t want to be put in a situation where you need to match your...
Read moreThis specific Michael's location is really not as large as many others, which I feel is truly unfortunate. The selection of items truly is not the best, and some parts of the store are quite cluttered and packed together.
As far as affordability is concerned (again, in my humble opinion), unless an item is on sale, you will pay quite a mark-up in price. Here is a key point: never pay full price for anything. Take photos of what you see on the shelves, and price shop around. You might thank me for it.
There aren't any spaces for crafting classes at this location. Crafters want to craft, and many people would love to learn a new hobby. There are not many craft stores near this area, and pickins' are slim, so to speak.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind if this location took over one of the larger vacant stores within the same shopping area. There might be room for crafting classes, more space to display items, more items could be (theoretically) brought in to the store to sell (versus ordering something online), and there would certainly be less need for clutter. This might bring in more business, and perhaps, prices might be marked down some. Wishful...
Read moreI went to Michael's last week & presented the cashier with a $10 Rewards coupon. The cashier would not accept it then when I asked her if there was a manager or someone available who could talk to me she blew me off. Then, one of the items I purchased was placed in the wrong spot in the store so when I checked out it was nearly double the price. It just wasn't the one item as if a customer had placed it there. There were several of the same item in that spot. So a store employee must have put them in the wrong place. When I got home I chatted with Michael's corporate about the $10 rewards coupon they took my name phone number and told me they would have the store manager call me back. The manager never called back but then I started receiving text for sales, etc on my phone the very next day. Very disappointing. Lazy employee !
UPDATE : I went to different Michael's and used my $10 easily. The cashier wasn't sure how to do it but tried a few things and BINGO...
