Legends — Restaurant in Champaign

I would like to take a moment to genuinely review the events that took place last night at Legends. I went with my Polish roommate and her mom, and we had the worst service experience I have ever had on campus. Here are the events that took place chronologically last night:

1. My roommates mom had ordered drinks- here is the breakdown: 4 razzle dazzles - $3.75 each 2 old fashions - $7.75 each Guess how much they charged her? $57 dollars. Now, if we take a second to do the math- that total should have come out to be $30.5 TOTAL excluding tax and or tip.

Not only did my roommates mom get taken advantage of, but we were shown some of the most Xenophobic behaviors by the staff. If you are a student of an immigrant I would definitely never recommend going here unless you want to be treated like you are unintelligible/treated poorly due to a language barrier.

2. When my roommates mom went back for a second round of drinks, this lady- maybe underage even, looked very young... serving at the bar :/ ... originally types $1400 dollars into the machine and handed it to my roommates mom to pay for a second round of the exact list of drinks mentioned previously. She then deletes it out of pettiness and gives my roommates mom a price of $46 dollars.

I would like a reason as to why your servers think it is okay to treat someone like this- ESPECIALLY during mom's weekend. I am so disappointed in my school's bar- one you would think actually cares about its college students and parents. Shame on the servers who think it is okay to treat someone's mom, who has a language barrier, with such disrespect. She is not stupid- and is not going to get overcharged $1400 dollars for no reason. We wanted to come here to have fun and simply put- legends does not have any respect for immigrants and children of immigrants.

3. We had a server take a drink from our table- targeted us and asked us all for wrist bands- WHEN some of us were not drinking and I was the designated driver. We had paid for these drinks already- and they plainly took one away without warning.

Overall, I would rate our experience 0 stars. I hate to see xenophobia/homophobia/racism (check the other reviews too.. not surprising that these other traits exist in a xenophobic space) in a place that literally has thousands of international students. Do better. You will not be getting any more money from us and anyone we inform of this situation.

We spent approximately 200 dollars for three rounds of drinks. Never...

Mediocre food and an incompetent kitchen. Here’s the why: Let’s begin with how I received my food. I ordered takeout. They did not begin making the food until I arrived. The business was not busy- barren even-but not a huge deal. They made the wrong burger and remade it. Back to back strikes make that a bigger deal. Let’s move on to the quality. The fries were burnt, but I did not notice until I reached my destination. The patty’s consistency was that of wetted cardboard that had been shredded and molded into a patty. The patty’s flavor was almost non existent. On top of this, they ruined the burger with pickled jalapeños. Is. This. A. Joke? This is a sit down restaurant and as far a si can tell it’s a local spot. You don’t use pickled jalapeños on burgers unless you’re either daft or cooking at a fast food joint. Fresh ingredients are a must for any non fast...

The food reminds me of my summer daycare center. Buns straight out of the plastic wrap, lettuce uncut and still wet from rinsing, and the cheese unmelted and sitting cold on top of the burger that is delivered on a paper plate. Best part? You get to pay $7 for a burger that you assemble yourself! That's right, pay the grumpy cashier loads of money to get a halfassed, factory-made burger, and then get off your ass and walk over to the buffet stand that sits out all day to put as much raw, full slices of tomato and fat chunks of entire onion rings on it as your heart desires! Not a fan of burgers? Order some half-cooked mozzarella sticks! It's only $2 per stick!

This is my favorite place to spend my hard earned money on mediocre food that looks better coming out...
