My Mom lived at Inman Place for almost 6 years. The staff cares about their residents and treats them like part of their family. The facility has a caring staff, nice clean rooms, and great food. Rent includes utilities, cable, land line phone, weekly cleaning, laundry service, and three meals a day, seven days a week. They offer a shuttle service during the week as well. My mother didn't have a pet, but Inman offers the option of bringing your pet for an additional fee. My Mom left Inman because she needed more care than an independent care facility can give. If she had remained independent, she never would have left. It gave her independence and gave me peace of mind knowing that her needs were being met. She loved visiting with the residents and became friends with many of them. When she visited the Inman for the first time, she looked around the dining room, noticed all of the people visiting with one another, looked at me and said I want to live here. I had an amazing stay here at The Inman this weekend while visiting some friends at UIUC. Clean, comforting, and spacious studio with a king/queen size bed, a nice kitchen/ and dining area with a TV, and a wonderfully clean bathroom. This was for a reasonable price compared to your standard hotel rooms in the area. Check-in age is 18+ which I thought was very convenient for those who are visiting friends. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They accommodated to my questions very swiftly through Booking.com. They also have a designated parking spot for those who are staying for a few nights which was very nice as opposed to meter street parking. Very close to the Illinois terminal if you are taking the Amtrak- a literal 1 minute walk from the station to The Inman and great access to buses. My family member lived at Inman Place for 6 months in 2018 before transitioning to a skilled nursing care facility due to failing health. I visited often and always found the staff to be respectful and helpful. The staff made my family member feel valued and important. The facility is geared toward independent living, but the staff were very accommodating to my family member's home health care workers.
