In store experience, fairly well but here is the thing, they are sales people and just that. My husband and I went into Bobs looking for a new bed for our children. We loved a bunk bed trundle, perfect for our 3 kids. We start working with a sales rep and here is where all the wrong doing begins! The sales rep is helping us and asking if we want extra stuff, to make it all easier we agree to also getting the 3 TWIN mattresses and 3 mattress protectors. The bunk bed starting price of $999 went to $2,250. Never once was it told we can add this for this amount or anything. Even when we did ask how much extra something it would be the response we would get was "Oh its a only a little more not much of a difference might as well add it." At the time we were questioning things amongst ourselves but just really wanted our kids to have their new bed so we go to pay. We hand the manager cash for the entire price and leave. The bed would not be delivered for almost 3 weeks. A couple days later, we think to check on Amazon for the bunk bed because we were still thinking about how we got to such a big price jump. While checking Amazon they had the EXACT same bunk bed trundle for $650 when we just paid $999. This then triggers us to review the detailed receipt with a break down of each item price. A 6 inch twin mattress was $200 each and the mattress protector was $70 each.... A 6 inch mattress anywhere else is around $80-90 and a waterproof protector is literally around $15-20. We were absolutely floored because IF TOLD the charges for the items, no one in their right mind would agree to that. It is ridiculous! So we reach out to the store to cancel the order, we could get literally the exact same product for more than half the price and so much sooner elsewhere. We paid cash and were told for a refund we would have to wait 2 days for a link to select a refund method. We were not told when paying with cash this would be the issue if refunded was wanted. We pay a large amount of cash thinking if refund is needed this could be a quick and easier refund process. Nope! Bobs is extremely misleading and uninformative. As the customer we should not have to sit and ask all these important questions, this is something their company should advise! Provide a cost breakdown of items and added things instead of just trying to get commission, it is unfair. When paying cash provide the difficult process that could come if refund needed. My husband & I came into Bobs discount furniture looking for a couch & mattress, we really liked one of their king size mattresses & decided to finance as it was way out of our budget but being pregnant & dealing with horrible back pain from our current mattress it was definitely a good investment. As we're going over the details of everything, we're informed that delivery would be over $100 so my husband had asked the salesman if the mattress would be coming in a box because in that case we would just prefer pick up. The salesman stepped away to go ask & came back informing us it would not be in a box & would be delivered 'in full size'. My husband & I instantly assumed he meant just wrapped in protective plastic like a spring bed/box & in that case we would need like a truck to be able to pick up as it wouldn't fit in our CRV. We then had to go with the delivery fee as we don't own a truck & we'd have to wait 3 days for it to get here. I just got my order .. tell me why the mattress came in a box? wrapped & sealed. Im very upset about this because we asked the questions that were needed to save us money as we already went way over our budget only to be told something way different making us pay for a service we didn't need. As the delivery driver was leaving he had mentioned that we will be getting a survey shortly & if we can fill it out it would benefit them a lot as they get bonuses based off the deliveries they make. I didn't think much of it until I realized what was happening, the salesman makes his commission for the sale while the delivery men get their commission off the delivery. Im even more infuriated by this scheme .. I definitely don't like to be lied to & I wish Bobs discount would've tried more to prevent this from happening. I deeply don't want to complain, but I am so upset that we basically threw money away when we didn't have to. Read moreOur experience with Bob’s Discount Furniture was incredibly mediocre. The in store purchasing process was fine, but be warned that they will really push you to get their “goof proof” warranty even after telling them no thank you several times. We even had the manager come up to us separately and push us again to purchase the warranty after already saying no. We ordered a couch and matching storage ottoman in May 2021 and received only the couch in August, a month after we were told. It continued to get delayed week after week, and it wasn’t until I called to cancel my order that they miraculously scheduled a delivery date. As far as the delivery goes, we paid for their “white glove” delivery service and it was nothing like what I expected. The delivery folks were in an unmarked truck, and literally pushed my couch out of the back, with it falling upside down on the concrete. They then brought it inside, dropping it on the way, until it was finally in my living room where they carelessly slashed at it with pocket knives, throwing plastic wrappers around my house. The entire thing came completely assembled, when they encouraged me to pay additionally for the delivery because “it would come un assembled in different pieces.” 100% not worth the extra delivery fee. Not to mention, they texted me that the matching ottoman (part of the set I got my couch from) is now discontinued and they no longer sell it? Almost 4 months after I purchased it. It makes no sense. They tell you it’s because they can’t get materials to make the furniture, but I was able to get an ottoman from living spaces and have it delivered the next week.
