I bought a pair of shoes in this store which were never worn. Now I find they are $20.00 less. Dillard's has a policy where they won't give a credit when such sales come about. So I decided to go into the store with the idea I'll return mine and buy another pair of the same style at the sale price. The sales rep said she didn't think we could do the transaction which I didn't understand and she was checking with the store manager. In the meantime to go along with my intentions, she brought out another pair,, the only pair in my size. I opened the box and with disgust, I saw the shoes had been worn. It was obvious they had been worn a lot,,, and I wasn't sure why they were allowed to be returned in the first place in such a condition. There was no way I was going to buy those being that my shoes were NEVER worn and in perfect condition. Then the manager appears and says we can't do any transaction, I told him I wouldn't anyway because of the worn shoes they gave me. He said no matter what, I couldn't return my shoes and buy the same style. Is he crazy or what? I can buy whatever I want. If I returned my boots, then came back the next day or even later, if they were in stock, I could buy back my boots, so what is he thinking? He can't tell me I can't buy the same style. The manager was young and probably needed to become more acquainted with the store's policies again. A store manager can't tell the customer what they can and can't purchase. I was totally upset,,, I kept my original boots even though I paid much more than the current price and also had another pair I was going to buy, which I didn't because of terrible customer service. I know there is no store that institutes such policies, Dillard's or others. I have been a customer of Dillard's for many many years, and never have I been subjected to such a ridiculous incident. Department stores wonder why they are hurting,,,,, maybe they should think twice about store policies, how they treat customers, and about who they hire...
Read moreWalked in to purchase clothing, cologne and makeup. I rarely shop because work is demanding of my time. Iâm very low key and kind, important to this story.
I found the salesclerk in ladies clothing to be far too aggressiveâŚshe rushed up on me and tried to snatch a shirt I was looking at âfor the dressing roomâ out of my hands, and I held firm, told her I was thinking. I eventually walked over to Free People clothing and purchased a $90 blouse. The cashier was very pleasant.
I was targeted by staff, who never approached me to help, with the exception of one nice brunette who asked if I needed help (she could not help but alerted a salesperson)! And I was followed.
You need to actually help customers instead of assuming everyone with a large purse is a thief.
I initially entered lingerie. I stood looking at items while I listened to the salesclerk greet others who entered the department. She was 3 feet from me at one point and never once acknowledged me. She saw me and decided someone in a ball cap and t-shirt wasnât worth her time. Youâre right⌠I put the $88 product down and purchased that and more elsewhere.
Downstairs in shoes a male brought shoes out for me but made me walk over to him to get them. Where is the good customer service?
The thin lady with the attitude in fragrance did the same. I have a progressive motor neuron disease and dealing with YOUR staff was physically and mentally exhausting. I decided to leave and purchased my $100 fragrance from Belk, who had the same product for $25 less. The $150 shoes I tried on in your store? Bought them at Belk. The $130 blouse I looked at? Belk. Shiseido makeup and skincare Iâve used for 25 years? Ordered it online instead of buying it from your passive aggressive clerk. Thatâs another $350.
I will not return to the Citadel Mall location. Have never encountered such poor service in a Dillardâs until now. So disappointed...
Read moreWaited 15 minutes for someone at the men's cologne counter. Some little woman from a separate department approached and asked "do you need something?" I stated "I'm just waiting for a cologne associate, thank you." She replied, shortly, with: "Yeah, well that's all you need to say," and walked off. I left for a while and came back to an empty counter, once again. Another associate, who had seen me standing there previously, walked up and said "You're back!" I explained that I was going to give one more opportunity to try and purchase a cologne, but would appreciate an added gift for waiting so long without any attention. After opening several cabinets and drawers full of "complimentary gifts," he stated that there is nothing, and that they are "bone dry." Keep in mind, we're about 5 days away from Father's Day. He offered a cheap bag or a tube of lotion, but not both. It was just a miserable and insulting experience all around, caused by poor customer service and a cheap attitude, that caused them a sale. I will not be returning to this Dillards or the dirty mall that it's located in again. I'll just travel the extra distance to Mt Pleasant for shopping from now on. I'm really disappointed in my experience at this particular Dillards, as every other one that I've ever been to has...
