Im leaving this review just so whoever decides to go here knows what they are going to face⌠I had a baby December 2023, and I have brought my child here to see two pediatrician , I donât want to say the names because my complain itâs overall the doctors but more about my child rights and the rights as parents that we supposed to have. I didnât like the first one we saw so we decide to change there to another one , when my baby was 3 months old he went without pooping for 5 days (not constipated) and one of their nurses told us to give my 3 month prune juice who hasnât even started anything else different than breast milk and when I went to urgent care because he was having belly aches , the pediatrician there told me giving my only breast feeding baby prune juice could have given him colon inflammation or unnecessary diarrhea , long story short the doctor kept strongly suggesting it was ok to give my son , on top of that we donât want to give our son vaccines yet , he is 4 months old , so the doctor told us that if by the next visit 6 months visit we donât start vaccines , they will reject to give my son medial care !!!! So we just donât want to give it to him yet and take vaccines just one by one , now we canât even go there because it doesnât match the schedule of vaccination for that practice and my child will not be able to go over there because of that. !!!! A baby of 4 month old !! Just to let you know !!! Legally they canât do that until we get another pediatrician care , they canât just reject care like that. Vaccines itâs a decision a parent should made not by when the doctors want the babies to take vaccines. My child has albinism so he has other healthcare conditions than just not getting vaccinated when they want you too start. They are just unbelievably corrupted by the care of regulations and they donât value the vow they do as doctors to protect to never do harm , and they are just caring about regulations & mandated by insurances and government because if they donât follow the schedule they are supposed to follow they wonât get money from the insurances ! And I know that because I used to work for the health care system before âŚ. Until I decided how corrupted everything else is ! So if youâre a new parent that itâs waiting on vaccines or simply donât want to vaccinated your child just yet when they want you to do it , let me save you some money and time coming to any of atrium pediatric location. I will submit my complain to medical board of directors about this doctors as well even tho probably they wonât pay attention. The only good thing about that practice was my lactation consultant she deserves all the 5 stars âď¸ other than that the whole practice will receive 0 from my point of view as a parent !!! THEY ARE DEFINITELY PUSHING YOU TO VACCINATE WHEN THEY WANT also thereâs no note on our visit that she advised about rejecting care because of refusing to give my child vaccines for...
Read moreUnfortunately, Iâve had consistently negative experiences with Dr. Werner, both during my sonâs newborn stage and again at 11 months.
She comes across as very judgmental, especially toward first-time moms. Our first newborn visit was with her only because she had wide open availability (which, in hindsight, says a lot). My son had lost 13% of his birth weight by day 5, and instead of offering support or considering the full context, she immediately told me I could stop breastfeeding â just one week postpartum. She also assumed we werenât open to combo feeding, when we absolutely were. I later consulted with far more experienced pediatricians who reassured me this level of weight loss is something they see regularly and know how to support without jumping to extremes. Her reaction caused a lot of unnecessary stress and disrupted our feeding journey.
Fast forward to 11 months later â once again, she was the only doctor with open appointments. During this visit, she got unnecessarily harsh and was the only pediatrician who couldnât check my babyâs ears without me restraining him. She implied I wasnât comfortable holding my own child, asking, âHow would you be most comfortable holding him?â in a tone that felt accusatory, not supportive.
Itâs clear to me now why her schedule is always wide open. I deeply regret both appointments with her. I would strongly recommend seeing another provider if possible â especially if youâre a new parent seeking support,...
Read moreI just had my first apt here for an 18 month well check for my son. The office staff and nurses were all great, but we had an uncomfortable/strange appointment with Dr. Almquist. Once I mentioned that I was still breastfeeding my son, who is 18 months, it felt like the conversation turned very judgemental. She told me I needed to stop breastfeeding during the night and if I didnât I was ruining my sonâs teeth and I really should be brushing his teeth after every time he nurses during the night. (This is outdated advice that breastfeeding while sleeping causes cavities). She then proceeded to tell me my son needs to learn to sleep on his own in his room and needs to be put down awake and put himself to sleep. That he might cry but my husband and I should not go in and get him. She also said if heâs crying or getting frustrated to turn my back on him or put him in his room and leave until he can calm down. Basically pushing âcry it outâ on us and saying I need to stop breastfeeding my toddler when I did not ask for any parenting advice. I wish I had said more in person but I was really uncomfortable and just ready to leave; I wanted to leave a review for any parents who might be considering this pediatrician/office. I would be willing to give this office another try with a different provider but will not be going back to see...
