I AM DONE WITH THIS FOOD LION! PLEASE DON'T SHOP HERE! THEY ARE SELLING BAD MEAT AND NOT SHOWING ACCOUNTABILITY FOR IT!!! DON'T MAKE YOUR FAMILY SICK FROM THEIR MEATS!! This Food Lion sells spoiled, tainted, bad meat! I bought pork chops last week that were slimy and spoiled. They didn't even fry well because the flour couldn't stick to the meat. I called customer service and they sent me an e-gift card for the cost of the bad meat but they did not refund the cost of the oil I bought and had to throw away because of the tainted meat because I didn'thave the receipt or the wrapper that the meat came in. I tried to give this store another chance by going back two days ago to use the gift card. This time I bought pre-packaged Angus ground beef for spaghetti. This time the beef was spoiled and tough to chew. It had no flavor and ruined my family's dinner. I called customer service AGAIN! This time I was told that someone will get in touch with me. I kept the receipt this time just in case I had another bad experience. Sure enough I bought more tainted meat. They claim to have a Double Your Money Back Guarantee. This is not true!! I did not receive double my money back for the pork chops because I did not have a receipt, so they said in customer service. Now I'm out of approximately $25 on a meal I had to throw out again!! I want to be refunded double my money for the bad beef, the spaghetti noodles, and the spaghetti sauce that was destroyed by this tainted Food Lion brand beef!! I feel like I should also be compensated for those bad...
Read moreMy review is a bit different. I'm in this store only occasionally. I've had two recent and fairly recent interactions that I feel need to be addressed. The first is not as significant as the other, that happened just yesterday where a lady working near the self checkout lanes began sweeping as I was checking out and even started trying to sweep right where I was standing and actually trying to checkout. i said to her, "don't sweep me, now." Please check your cameras for the footage, but it was after 10PM 4/30/24. However, I just backed up and told her, "go ahead, do your thing". I then asked why would she start trying to sweep where customers are trying to check out? Her response was something to the effect of sweeping due to an onion smell or something of that nature. I responded, "you should probably wait until a customer is not there checking out." She said, "I'll have to remember that." I just said, "yeah it would be good to remember."
How does she or any other of the Food Lion staff (if it's the case) not know that? Or, just from living in general, it's a known common courtesy. If a person is occupying a space, it's common knowledge to not infringe on their space. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS AMONGST YOUR STAFF...
Read moreWe are very much sentimentality attached to this shop. We shop here for almost 10 years. Earlier it was "Bloom", Food Lion's premium brand. Eventually the changed names in Charlotte area. This shop somehow has a premium look and arrangements compared to other stores.
All associates are very friendly. Also they manage to have fastest checkouts I have ever experienced even on peak crowded times.
They have deals on almost every item and almost every day. Really not sure how they make money. Make sure you have MVP, their membership card. Even when you forget to bring the card, associates will be friendly to use their store cards to get deal prices.
Bakery section is one of the best, next only to Harris Teeter. But here all pastry, cakes and bakes are cheaper compared to other stores, and they tastes better too.
They have some unique collection of Asian grocery, like rice, spices, some Asian juices and biscuits. Asians should try...
