Short version: I would go back again despite staffing issues. The food was good.

Service. We were greeted with a smile from the server. The person was warm and welcoming. However, there was only one person there to take care of several tables. When we arrived there were already 5 tables (us being the 6th) and there was only 1 person to help all of us. (This was around 6pm). The service was slow because of this, but we were patient having taken notice and not wanting to overwhelm the person. More tables came in after us and someone from the kitchen came out to assist. The server was taking orders, cleaning tables, checking people out, so I'm sure they were overwhelmed.

Food: We were offered complimentary soup (a vegetable soup and a chicken soup). The vegetable tasted good, like a regular vegetable soup. The chicken tasted like a chicken and dumpling soup (no dumplings) with a ginger presence. My husband and I ordered an appetizers (Gobi Manchurian), the lamb curry, butter chicken and garlic naan. The Gobi Manchurian doesn't come mild, only medium and hot. It was good, sauced well, but I thought it was a bit overpriced ($11.99) for the portion size. We enjoyed the butter chicken ($14.99) and lamb curry ($17.99), but both had a lot of gravy compared to the amount of meat. Botj were served with rice (ample amount). The garlic naan ($3.99) was really good and there was a lot of it. The butter chicken was my favorite and it was nice and creamy. Heat Temperature of all the food was fresh and hot, not like it had been sitting.

Parking: There's lots of free parking available. I went for dinner and there were some street lights out near my car which made it dark, but that's not a reflection of the restaurant, just something to be aware of when you're...

Y'all I normally don't leave reviews but let me tell you about how I almost broke my neck at dinner! So we have gone to this restaurant a few times in the past as stand in for when my go to spot is closed. Well tonight was one of those nights. The first thing that threw us off was the amount of time we had to wait for each course. Appetizers took a roughly 30 minutes and then it was an hour before we received the first entree. My husbands meal was wrong, when we told them it was wrong.m, no server response was " no actually you did order this, if you want something else it was take some time". They put in the wrong order for my husband but because of wait time we just sucked it up and kept the meal. Then I waited an additional 30 minutes for my entree which was originally given to the wrong table so they had to remake it. Finally it was time to close the tab and wouldn't you know it as I'm reaching to hand the man my card my chair moves back into a drain pipe sending me backwards with my legs flying in the air. Thank goodness there was table of people behind me! Me crashing into them slowed me down enough to keep my head from smacking the floor. After I'm lifted back up to my feet, a man behind the counter mentions, " yeah we really need to move that table". I can only assume that I'm not the first person to fall victim to this poor chair placement. The food is pretty good but I think this will be our last time visiting this spot. We were not compensated in any way for the inconvenience or the near...

I have been to this restaurant many times and alwaus enjoyed my experience and food! However, I went to eat here a few weeks ago with my boyfriend, and, as a woman, I had an extremely sexist and misogynistic experience which really shocked me. The waiter, who I had never had before, was a man in his late 30s or 40s and was blatantly secist towards me. When ordering, he would not respond to me or respond when I said thank you. Additionally, he looked taken aback when I ordered before my partner, instead of letting him go first. When I would say thanks, no response. Okay, thats fine. But when my partner would say thanks, the waiter would respond saying "thank you sir". Maybe a bit rude but not really sexist. However, when it came time to pay, I paid with my card. I handed the waiter my card, and he turned thr machine around for my partner to add the tip, sign, and even handed MY card and receipt to my partner when it was complete! Even said "thank you, sir" to my partner when I was the one who paid with my money! I am still shocked I had this experience, because it is 2024, and I have never had such a terrible experience of such blatant sexism acted upon me. I thought these sort of things happened decades ago. After this experience, I will never return to this establishment, although I was a very loyal customer for...

ok, my beautiful and wonderful people. first I am looking for a spot in charlotte. now back to review. I have met indian cuisine in Philly, Jersey, all of new york, Georgia, South Carolina and now both sides of North Carolina. I tried in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Sarangi was on point with everything we ordered food network should hire me. The appetizers momos the Indian dumplings look just like all their Asians cousins. that fantastic Chilli sesame dipping sauce awesome. my mine course as always the ever so brilliant Chicken Tikka Masala. Sarangi is not the fine dining place, of which I love. it is also not a indian dive. The beer of which my server introduced me to was named TAG and indian lager that tasted much like the lagers here in the U.S. good beer good eats and last on the list. A remarkable growing to my top 5 greatest Naan I ever had this garlic Naan was the top of the line necessary to accompany evey dish on the menu. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant to try a lot more Napolese dishes. in closing students of charlotte gang night, hot date, date night for parents or older. satisfy your pleasure with food that you can take home and tease. your co workers with and enjoy the experience that is Sarangi.

Sarangi is a SOLID Indian and Nepalese restaurant! This place has been on the “to try” list for quite some time and I’m glad we got to try it today. Service was incredibly friendly and accommodating. As others suggested, we tried the Mango Papdi Chaat on medium spice. It was overwhelming with incredible flavor: sweet, tangy, savory, refreshing, and enjoyable heat. The bread served with it provided a nice soft and crunchy texture to the dish. I have never had anything like it and I’m glad we tried it. The garlic naan was stellar as well and went well with the dishes we tried. I also enjoyed the gulab jamun and my wife tried the kulfi pistachio popsicle and loved it. The paneer tikka masala is not bad; a little on safe side spice-wise and a bit watery for my taste personally (similar to Thai curry) but I liked it overall and the paneer cubes were well done. I am already looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes. I am interested in trying the butter chicken and samosa chaat next. I give this place a thumbs up and I know you will too! - Adam from @appetiteandadventure
