Foundation For the Carolinas — Local services in Charlotte

We were so thrilled to have our wedding at Foundation For The Carolinas and could not have asked for a more beautiful venue (we also lucked out and had the most beautiful day in February – and were able to use the outdoor terraces unexpectedly!). The space was gorgeous and it was a huge benefit that most of our vendors had worked there frequently, so we felt confident that everyone would know what they were doing. We experienced a few hiccups at the wedding (confusion about the bar serving liquor, a holding space for the bridal party had been changed without any advance notice) but everything was corrected smoothly and none of our guests knew about the issues. If you go with FFTC, I would recommend hiring a wedding coordinator as well (Libby Sarver from Details Wedding Planning is amazing!) to help with the logistics and to be the go-between for your vendors and the venue. I also feel that, considering everything that is included in the rental cost and that the space is so beautiful it requires very little décor, the rental cost is reasonable and worth it. Me and my fiancé were excited to view the philanthropy art gallery today, as soon as we walked in the security guard (female) gave me a dirty look, the receptionist was very nice. We started browsing the gallery and saw a section up stairs and began to look around, the security guard then rudly tells us we can’t be up there. There was no sign telling you that you couldn’t go view the gallery up stairs, there was nothing stopping you from going up the stairs. If we couldn’t be up there she could’ve politely asked us to step down. There was no reason for her to have the attitude she had, if you can’t go to certain areas you should probably inform people of that before you let them browse the gallery. I couldn't agree more with Jenna! They are so unprofessional and they don't ANYTHING! I just had one of there staff members, tell me to move my wedding to simply to move my wedding from October to November! They are horrible, this place is beautiful and amazing but they are not organized and they have no clue as to what they are doing! I will now have to find another venue for my wedding!!!!
