Soho Bistro — Restaurant in Charlotte

It had been quite some time since i had visited this particular restaurant; my loss. I used to go pretty regularly for the lunch specials prior to multiple surgeries on my legs(I'm a disabled veteran). So i decided to treat myself to an early dinner and was quite pleased with the results. From the appetizer menu, i ordered two egg rolls and the steamed pork dumplings. The egg rolls are homemade in house every day. The outside was crunchy and they were cooked to perfection. The steamed dumplings; not so much. The dough was very thick and i don't believe they were homemade. For my main course, i ordered the pork fried rice. Again, this was extremely good and did not disappoint. As you can see from the menus that I've posted(both lunch and dinner), the prices are extremely reasonable, especially when you consider this restaurants uptown location. Total bill, including tip was $21 and some change. The portions were large enough that i had enough to pack up and have another complete meal. A nd the service was excellent. If you care to imbibe, they do serve alcohol. Beer, both foreign and domestic, sake; both hot and cold, as well as various wines. The prices on domestic beer was extremely reasonable, around $3.75. Michelob Ultra was in this price category. Almost 1/2 the cost of other restaurants in the area. The chairs and half-booth seating on the far right side were extremely comfortable. The seating means a great deal to me since my entire right femur is a prosthetic implant. I would highly recommend this place for both individuals and groups. The lady who answered the phone, has a Nasty attitude!!!! Seriously, why would I spend money to get mistreated? Friday night, I ordered food for me and my business partners, after a long day of training for business and a VERY full day ahead of us, we just wanted to have food delivered to us at the hotel, then go to bed. I ordered my food at 8:05 pm, the receptionist quoted that our food would be delivered in 30 minutes...it took a hour and 45 minutes!!!! After waiting a hour, I called to check on the status of our delivery, the receptionist told me, "it hasn't been a hour!", I was flabbergast! Why would she lie to me? What happened to good customer service?! I told her, "Ma'am, I'm looking at my call times, it's now 9:05." She replied, "well your food's on the way!". I said, "Is it en route or are you just saying that?"....THEN...THE LADY HUNG UP ON ME!!! WHAT??!!!! If it was just my food, I would have cancelled the order! When the delivery guy came, I snapped and made clear that I would write a scathing review, b/c the receptionist is HORRIBLE! I concluded it was unfair to project on him, my frustrations for his sorry co-worker(his name is Gaston and he was VERY nice actually); I tipped him and sent him on his way! I normally love to give rave reviews, but unfortunately this is not one. Yesterday on my lunchbreak ordered shrimp and okra fried rice, arrived back to my desk to discover it was pork and okra fried rice. However, the staff was very accommodating and offered to replace the meal once I returned. I did so today, and in addition ordered fried calamari and a vegetable spring roll. I asked if I could replace normal fried rice with vegetable fried rice for am additional charge and was surprised to be told this could not be accommodated. The breading on some parts of the calamari was white mushy and uncooked, fortunately for them I'm not sure how to attach to this review the photo worth a thousand words I took of it...I love calamari but could not eat it.
