Some people would not he happy with limited menu, but I prefer limited menu done WELL and they did just that and then some! 😍1) Ordered spicy chicken bowl. 2) Sundubu-jjigae (soup ) The dish is made with extra soft tofu with zucchini, mushrooms, onion, gochujang or gochugaru.
Front(cashier) of the house to back of the house (chef) were genuinely friendly. We got a bonus! Chef brought out mini kimchi pancake for us to try and the best kimchi pancake I have ever had as well! Yes, I eat a lot of kimchi pancakes!
I have read some other reviews and noticed people talk about pricey menu. I personally know how much time Korean dishes take to prepare. I am more than willing to pay a good price on well prepared meals. That’s just my opinion and backing with some experience in learning how to cook Korean food.
Joa is THE establishment I look forward to dining in and enjoying meals with my family after 3 hrs and 45 minutes drive...
Read moreI always enjoy my food from Joa, and I’ve tried quite a few items. Somehow it tastes home cooked rather than from a restaurant (and that’s a good thing), yet the presentation and effort are all obviously professional. If you’re interested in Korean food then I highly recommend it. I’ve tried… the Bibimbap, it’s a great portion size and while it’s filling, it doesn’t feel heavy. The Bulgogi is also very good, spicy but so tasty and tender! The Japchae is one of my favorite dishes . I love the glass noodles and how it manages to be so subtly flavorful. The Ddukbokki is amazing. I wish I hadn’t tried it because I want to eat it everyday. If you’ve never tried rice cakes before then these are a fun treat, but they are chewy (which they’re supposed to be) so be prepared for that. I personally adore the texture, and the sauce served with these is also amazing. It’s sweet and super spicy. Lastly, the Kimchi … which is just the best. Seriously, it’s so good. Also spicy, but really fresh and...
Read moreI came home from a long road trip. Wife got me the Spicy Chicken bowl from here to try. I can definitely tell you I will not eat from here ever again. Surprised by the 5 star reviews. I thought I was eating Chinese takeout until she told me that it was Korean. $14 dollar for a bowl of chopped up chicken in a slightly spicy and sweet sauce on a bed of rice; not bland but the flavor was nothing special, which is why I mistook it as Chinese; not a good value prop. She ordered the Squid bowl for $16. Again, overpriced for the amount of food you get. $20 for a Bulgogi bowl? For the same price point, you're better off going to the Korean Restaurant inside Super G. They actually have Bibimbap Dolshot served in a hot stone bowl. Better food in my opinion. I wonder why some of the best Korean restaurants in Fort Lee NJ, the Mecca for Korean food, don't even get 5...
