Beware: check the price that the employees ring your items up for before you pay! My husband and I were excited to come across this place, and found a movie that we chose to buy because of the good price listed on the barcode of the movie. We checked out, and afterwards thought that the total price seemed high for what it should have been. While still at the entrance of the store, we looked at the receipt and saw that the movie price was entered as $22.99, not $19.99 which was listed on the barcode. I walked back to the register and asked another employee why the price would have been higher than what was listed on the barcode. She scanned the movie and said, “oh this movie won’t scan maybe it was our last one and they just typed a price in.” So I asked her why they would have typed in a different price than what was shown, and she told me she would go ask. The assistant manager came back with a new barcode sticker and proceeded to tell us that the barcode that’s on the movie was printed in May, and they receive thousands of updated barcode stickers with prices regularly, and the new price hadn’t been put on the movie. He said since there are thousands printed, they didn’t have the time to go get every item and place the new stickers on each item. My husband asked if we could return the movie then, because he wanted it for the price listed, not more, even if it was a few dollars more because at that point we could have gone elsewhere or ordered it online. We were told there is a no return policy, and the assistant manager pointed to the piece of paper hanging on the register, which is very unclear. The first sentence stated all refunds and exchanges must have original receipt and packaging. The second sentence then said their 30 day refund or exchange policy was for defective items, and this is what the assistant manager argued. After this though, the assistant manager asked for my husbands photo id and said he would refund him the difference, “because he was being a pain”. The assistant manager then kept asking if it made sense that thousands of new barcode stickers get printed and they didn’t have time to put them on each item. This truly doesn’t make sense though, because then what’s being advertised isn’t correct. The assistant manager completed the refund and finally told us that this happened to someone else earlier, so I guess this is a normal practice for this store. We will not be returning to this store, and I caution everyone who does shop here to verify the price of your items before you pay, as their refund policy is unclear and apparently very strict. You also don’t want to risk the assistant manager calling you “a pain” if you question the...
Read moreI was initially excited about this new store in the mall, but a friend purchased a manga here and realized that she already had it a few minutes later before leaving the mall and they wouldn't let her return it or make an exchange. She was so upset she called me crying because the cashier said they wouldn't do anything, and the cashier even said that they had refused a return or exchange for another customer in the same way earlier as well. I eventually convinced her to go back and speak to another cashier and they let her exchange the manga to buy something else. But this is definitely a case where following the letter of the policy and not having any leeway is a bit unreasonable and at the very least it's terrible customer service. For clarity, when my friend went back in, they looked around the register and there is a piece of paper taped to the register with their return policy, including a phrase that says they can refuse to accept returns unless a product is defective, but it's not displayed prominently enough to be quickly and easily read by someone before making purchases. Definitely take your time and read through the return policy thoroughly at the register before making a purchase if you choose to shop here. As for me, there are too many better options in town to worry...
Read moreI was not expecting this store to carry so much media, collectables and accessories. I was mainly interesting in their classic video games. They have a large variety of games for the Playstation 1/Xbox OG to the current gen consoles. They even have some games for the NES, SNES and Sega Genesis. I did not see many games for the niche consoles like Sega CD, PS Vita, Dreamcast and ect. Their DVD section is huge and and they have tons of box sets for those who cut the cord and now need to cut the stream on all of the streaming services that are now available.
There is a fairly large CD and record section with plenty to choose from but it wasn't categorized or alphabetized which seemed to make it more of a hunt to find what you were looking for. To round it out they have posters, toys, figurines, weapons replicas, cards and so much more.
My visit was only about 20 minutes but I could have stayed for hours combing through the vast selection of goodies while reminiscing of a time when you didn't rent content. Definitely worth a trip for anyone...
