Smoke Depot — Local services in Chehalis

DO NOT SHOP HERE, they sell defective products that they will not stand up for.

I purchased a Scorch Torch lighter for $29.99 on July 11 from a heavy-set blonde lady at the Smoke Depot. When I got home (35 miles from the store) I tried to fill the torch and it immediately started leaking from a seal at the bottom of the lighter. I opened the valve and set it outside to make sure it was empty and returned it immediately to its box so I could take it back for an exchange or refund.

Because I live so far away from the store I couldn’t rerun it before today, July 25, exactly 2 weeks from when I bought it.

The same lady was there and I told her of the problem and she said “I don’t know if I can take it back because it’s been 2 weeks,” and she picked up her cell phone and called someone, who I believe was the owner and basically explained my situation. I’m guessing that the person on the other end asked what condition the lighter is in and she looked directly at the bottom of the lighter and said “It’s kind of messed up.” I used this torch for no more than 2 or 3 minutes after attempting to fill it and realizing it was defective placed it back in its original box. I returned the torch in the EXACT same condition as when I purchased it.

The clerk told me that she couldn’t help me because of the “Damage” to the torch and that the store wouldn’t get credit for it from the manufacturer. The “Damage” is a defect in the paint on the very bottom of the torch and had no affect on the location of the leak.

I have contacted my credit card company and am submitting a dispute for the purchase of the torch.

This store not only has the cheapest prices around, the customer service is amazing. each time i have been to the depot I have been waited on by a very kind and efficient blond woman I do not know her name but I won't ever forget her embarrassingly, I came up a dollar short as i grabbed the wrong purse when walking out and only had what was in my pocket red faced i turned to put one of the boxes of tubes back when the sweet lady said don't worry about it and and put in a dollar herself and she even tried to save my pride by telling me honest mistakes happen to good people all the time I was so thankful and wish there was an employee of the month or something cause she deserves to be recognized somehow for going...

I use to love this place. There's a young man who is usually there who is very knowledgeable about all the products. He wasn't there when I went in wednesday 6/7/17 Anotheryoung guy with dark hair was working. He sold me a I stick Pico and extra batteries I didn't need then told me he never stays past 8pm and I was screwing that up! I paid and it's the worst over priced unit I've ever purchased! I talked to owner about return policy, she was hard to understand but pretty much says she can credit but it take long time weeks. Really!!! If you do go there make sure the young man with light hair and a broken arm helps...
