Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce — Local services in Chelan

We rented at Chelan Resorts Suites #211. Interesting condo, actually a nice place. Nicely updated kitchen. But lacking in niggling maintenance. Found it interesting that a 2b/2bath accommodating 4 adults would have only 2 chairs on the o/s deck? lucky we were two adults only. Living room was able to seat 3 adults, and only one light? This unit needs some further updating to keep it competitive with others. The beds were comfortable, but the bed frames were a safety issue. No telling how many renters came away with broken/injured toes. The door key pad was problematic. We never did get access to the garage via the overhead door, although the same code worked fine for the man door at the garage. Maintenance issues: the cabinet doors under the guest bath sink and the kitchen sink are loose. Hard to believe the bath shower facilities do not have safety grab bars. The one moulded in grab bar might help someone sitting in the tub but not anyone getting in or out of the shower. The toilets being the standered low style can be hard for some people to stand up without a grab bar. Using the toilet roll bracket for a hand hold will some day break away. Will cost you more to fix it than to install a proper grab bar. Front door when closed you can see light around the door. Ok for summer but winter will leak cold air. Lights by the beds is barely adequate. Hard enough to read if you are on the side by the lamp but but forget it if you are away from the lamp. My guess this was a designers idea and looked good on the drawing but not practical in use. BTW the lamps are too short if you want to read. We were email a letter saying that parking spaces beneath the condo were for “compact” cars. This is not true as the spaces are large enough for full size autos and pickup truck. While there no compacts in the garage but plenty of full size cars, SUV and a few pickups. Yes the ceiling height is low so watch the height. Would I stay there again? Probably not. Room rate is good but the Fees are way too high. There is a name for this in some circles of a way to get business. And a nine page contract is ridiculous. Bud, Disappointed from Seattle,

We live locally in the area and come and go from the Westside. And over the years I’ve noticed the stifling affect the chamber has had on the community. First off many of there events have become outlandishly expensive. Second they have become cheap with what they provide to these local events. Third they heavily monitor the businesses involved in the events, so much so that many have stopped participating in them and lastly they advertise greatly, yet offer little. Not worth the weekend drive from the Westside. I’d rather spend my time and money in...
