I would not recommend this Petsmart for grooming with Shelby. I took my pup today that is a Shorkie mix that weighs maybe 25 pounds for his first appointment. She seems to take along time to take him in the back stating "I want to make sure he doesn't bite". I told her if he does bite you would be the first. She called a hour later stating that she couldn't complate the grooming appointment because he "tried" to bite her. Talk about self fulfilling prosphesy. I asked to speak to the grooming manager because I didn't want my pup noted as a biter just in case I needed to try another groomer. He had the same bad attitude as her. She even lied and said that he tried to bite her at the initial appointment.I asked if he tried to bite you why would you accept him for grooming? No answer. The only reason I went there is because my pup went through the beginners puppy training and the vet clinic that he use to go to has lost 2 groomers in the last 6 months. Neither have reported that he has ever tried to bite them. He has had a total of 4 groomers in the 17 months and no one has had a problem with completing a grooming appointment or stated he has bitten at them. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI can't say this for all PetSmart employees however the experience I had when I called the Chester location was phenomenal. I had the pleasure of speaking with an employee named Cindy. The Chester location is not her home store. She advised me that she is just filling in there for this week and that her home store is currently the Mechanicsville location. Cindy went above and beyond to help me with the questions that I had. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable and friendly she did not get annoyed with all of the questions I was asking. She gave me amazing advice on the Veterinary Clinic attached to PetSmart. I personally hope that Cindy is in a manager position due to the fact that she has manager qualities that she exemplified when speaking with me. I personally have been in sales customer service for a very long time and Cindy was out of this world when speaking with me. Groomer knew I was upset when they refused to groom my puppy with 1 small tangled area even when i offered to take him to my car and cut it off myself. I had this appointment reserved almost 10 days. She repeatedly told me "Have a nice day ma'am!" Even after I said Please don't say that to me when you can see I'm upset. This woman then smiled and again says Have a nice day ma'am! Seriously?! She then raised her voice and was speaking over me when I was explaining how rude she was being. NEVER go here. You can't even see into the grooming area while they groom your pet like you can at Petco. I would never trust that woman to handle my dog. Never returning.
