You would typically be hard pressed to find me in a Kohl's department store, there just isn't anything here that I can't find for cheaper on the internet somewhere (yes I am one of those guys). You would typically be even more hard pressed to find me driving an hour out of my way to visit a Kohl's location, for the exact aforementioned reason, and the simple fact that it's literally an hour out of the way. Except for this time, this location (being one of two locations in the entire state of Michigan) had something that is very, VERY hard to get ahold of on the internet (in this case, it was a pair shoes). Yes, you read that right, I drove nearly an hour out of my way to go and see if this particular location had a very coveted pair of shoes that is still to this day incredibly difficult to get for a retail price on the internet.
If you're unfamiliar with the area that this particular location is in, to say that it's incredibly busy would be putting it quite lightly. The hustle and bustle is real out here, so just prepare yourself when it comes to traffic and whatnot. To be completely honest (and I'm not trying to be funny here) I had no idea that people really still shopped here in masses, and when I got here I was pretty shocked to see how packed it was, and these people weren't standing in line with the shoes I was after I'll just say that.
Beyond that, the store is clean, well organized, and unlike many department style stores, there seemed to be plenty of employees roaming around should you need any help with anything. The employees here are also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.
When all was said and done, I was able to get the shoes I was after (not in my size unfortunately), but my girlfriend was very happy that I was able to snag her a pair. I don't have much of a reason to come to Kohl's, but if I did I wouldn't mind heading...

If you value your time, your money, or basic human decency, avoid Kohl’s at all costs.
I placed an order to be shipped directly to my 92-year-old disabled mother — because she cannot go to a store to pick it up. This was clearly stated in the order. Kohl’s confirmed the shipping address, took my money, and promised delivery to her home.
Instead, they sent it to a store miles away. No notice, no explanation — just a bland email saying it was “ready for pickup.” That completely defeats the purpose and ignores the most basic instruction in the transaction.
When I reached out, I received no real solution, no urgency, and no sense that Kohl’s even cared they had violated the terms of the purchase. The burden was shifted to me — as though my elderly, disabled mother should suddenly figure out a way to get to a store.
This isn’t just bad service — it’s disrespect. It’s a lack of compassion, a lack of competence, and a total disregard for the customer.
Warning to consumers: if you need something shipped where you actually direct it, Kohl’s cannot be trusted. Their “ship to home” promise means nothing. And in situations where accessibility or mobility matters, they show zero concern.
I will never spend another penny at Kohl’s — not online, not in-store, not ever. And I will make sure others know...
Read moreI was in Kohls and checking out at 1:30pm today-July 3rd. The older woman working the registers was extremely rude to multiple customers, including me. She got upset at one customer using the self-checkout for accidentally getting the wrong size item of clothing and needing to go grab her size. She got upset with me that I didn’t take the anti-theft clip off a pair of shorts fast enough for her. I was also using the self-checkout. Then she made a comment to her coworker that people need to start going to the registers with real people from now on. As I was getting my receipt and walking out she gave another customer attitude because she accidentally walked by the self-checkouts and needed a register with a person and the woman working said “if you want a real person you need to go over there!!! There’s signs everywhere!!” Then said she was going on lunch. Hopefully she checks her attitude before coming back. If you hate your job that much then quit, but don’t give paying customers the brunt of...
