LongHorn Steakhouse — Restaurant in Chesterfield Township

First let me start with I know they were under staffed and we were very patient. However the experience was definitely subpar. It started when the waiter came back after he brought bread to the table and said he lost our order so he took it again. A few minutes later someone dropped a salad on the table and disappeared very quickly. It was what my husband had ordered, so I told him to start because I thought mine would be right behind. As he finished the salad someone walked up with 2 salads, the one I had ordered and another like the one that he had finished. Then it was quite a while before our steaks came out. We both ordered medium-well, as we cut into our steaks it was apparent they were both rare. Had to stop another server to send ours over. He was on the other side of the restaurant so it took him a few minutes to come over. We sent both back. (Obviously, the cooks need new thermometers because the table next to us sent theirs back for the same reason). When the steaks came back they were still undercooked but we ate them. Our steaks were on the wrong plates we know as one had a potato with Sour Cream and green onions one did not! So we switched the potatoes and ate our dinners. Our server brought the bill as we were putting money in, the manager came by and asked how it was, we told her our issue and she did take our bill and adjusted it. First time @ this location. The waitress was very overwhelmed. Seemed to be “in the weeds” the entire time. We felt like we were over-looked the entire time we were there. She had a large section and seemed to focus on her larger parties. We order an appetizer that didn’t come out until 15 minutes after our salads, (which took over 20 minutes)! We told the food runner we didn’t get our appetizer & she said it’s because the kitchen is behind & she’ll check into it. In the meantime, our drinks were empty and we wanted more bread, (cuz we we’re starving)! Our steaks came, then our appetizer, (finally…. But really, we don’t want it now)!! We overheard the manager talk to our waitress about her section & asked how she was doing. She “thought” she was doing pretty well. Ummm… No. We had to stop another server for refills, our steaks were slightly cold & she never came back to check on us… Until it was time to drop the bill off! THEN she cared about giving us great service, (hmmm, right around the corner of tipping)??!!!!

We still left 20%, although, I don’t think she worked for it! I waited tables for 15 years, I would be so embarrassed if I deliver this lack-of service!

Not to mention, the manager never stopped to see how we we’re doing. He walked around, yet never interacted w/ any guests! This is HUGE! Every well-ran business stems from the top! Very disappointed. I was hoping to be “wowed!” 😞

We went this past Friday, which I believe was their first weekend being open. Our waitress, I forgot her name, was very pleasant and checked on us often. We ordered an appetizer, the spicy chicken bites, they were delicious!

After ordering our main meals they came in a timely manner except my shrimp portion, which they did come to the table and say it was going up be a bit longer for that. I ordered my steak medium and my husbands was medium rare. Both came overcooked. My daughters steak however was a perfect medium. They still tasted ok so we did not want to trouble them to send it back or anything. We were just about done with the meal when my shrimp did arrived. I was already full by that time so I asked for a box.

A training manager had come over to ask how everything was and checking since she knew my shrimp was running behind. I was honest that the steaks were a tad overdone, and she could tell. She insisted they make it right for us. I told her we understand, they are new and learning. They boxed up 2 new steaks with our potatoes and adjusted our bill. They also gave us a free appetizer card for our next visit.

I don’t leave many reviews but definitely wanted to let people know about the A++ service we received. We appreciated them making sure we left happy and had good food. Can’t say that about many places these days. Will definitely be back again. Everything was great and it’s a pleasant...
