Pieces of Jayde — Local services in Chesterton

She is the real deal and one of the kindest people I've met.

I need to preface a few things: I'd never been to her store before. I've never met Jayde before. I'm not into this sort of store - but I am now!

I have a friend who is in the hospital a ways away from here. He's very much into healing crystals and things of that nature. I wanted to get him something when I went to visit him, something that means something to him. But I didn't have the first clue. Looked up healing crystals near me and Pieces of Jayde comes up.

I walk in, probably looking lost, and explain the situation (in depth, I'm clearly a talker - see long review lol). Unfortunately, they were moving at the time to their new store in Valparaiso, and had limited options as it was a moving sale. She explained that all the good stuff was already there. Dang. But she paused, and said "let me go look in the back!" (Probably seeing the sad and lost "oh no, what do I do" look I likely gave!)

She comes out with this beautiful piece that she made and just so happened to have, along with a few other crystals she pulled out for me for safe travels and the like. So at this point I'm crying and she explained the significance of everything. We talked, I purged a bit. There was hugging! She took the time to type up everything about the gift and what it meant. (The main thing you did for me, I will just say that it meant everything. Every one I have told in person said the same: there are still good people out there. I know you didn't do it for a return in karma, but you deserve every wonderful bit of that good karma.)

I waited to write this review for the end result. First, I want to say that my friend is better than I worried he'd be, but worse than one would hope for. But he is determined and while it will be a long road, he will get better, that I do not doubt.

Second, he LOVED the gift. We talked about a spiritual retreat/community that we used to go to when we went to school that no doubt influenced his love of crystals and spirituality, and my love of all things kind and peaceful. We made plans to go again.

Third, when I told the story to his husband, he sobbed, knowing it was meant to be. I will confess, I know those crystals you gave me were a gift, but they got me there, and I passed them on to him. He didn't want to take them as you'd given them, but I told him I don't think they were meant for me anymore. I can get more. I think I was supposed to pass them onto him. He held onto them hard. He will struggle too, now and his need was greater. They got me there. I actually touched them frequently on the drive.

I don't often think of small businesses as doing such a greater good, but you did. You touched lives that day with your kindness.

I said earlier that I'm not into this sort of thing, but I have informed my husband that we are now! Once you reopen in Valparaiso, we are coming there and stocking up. When I told my friend that I wasn't into this sort of thing, he kept saying the word "intention". I get it now. They have meaning to me because of what you did for us that day.

Go to this store! Meet this woman! She'll change you in the best of ways. I cannot stop talking about you! I've told everyone I know and will keep telling. You're what small businesses should be striving for. You didn't know me, you could have just given me anything to get me out, honestly and I wouldn't have a clue. But you absolutely took that time to make sure it was right. That's how it's done! From one small business owner to another, it was a teachable moment. Thank you.

The displays are absolutely beautiful, and well-organized. Their pricing is incredibly fair and accessible, which was awesome to see! And…they host events!! Everyone there is remarkably knowledgeable and kind, so I’m very interested & excited to go to one. I am beyond grateful that such a wonderful shop is in this area, and I highly recommend...

If you are looking for a magical getaway, Pieces of Jayde is the best store in Chesterton Indiana! Everyone who works at the store is beyond kind and the is full of crystals, jewelry, fine glass, incense, divination tools and other energy working tools. Jayde makes unique, handmade, and (what looks like) electroplated copper jewelry, and Jen mines a lot of the crystals in the store herself! You can tell each piece is picked for the store with care.
