VERY pricey. My husband & I were driving through Valpo & thought we'd give it a try. We should've keep driving! I ordered a steak bowl. She mentioned that I could get up to 8 toppings, but then added that they each cost. I added Pico ($1) & cheese ($.75). I expected the steak to be grilled & seared. The appearance was more like boiled. There weren't any grill markings, color, or flavor. The bowl had very little rice & beans. This was definitely a lunch-sized portion. We really would've been upset had this been dinner. My husband ordered the grande carnitas burrito...grande it was not! It was mostly lettuce and slaw. He said there was only one strip of meat down the side. He complained about the lack of meat several times. We also got the chips and trio (salsa, queso & guac). Chips were good. Queso good (not sure if homemade). Salsa was mediocre. I'm guessing the guac was good, he didn't say anything. We spent almost $40 for this lunch. Could've gone to Chipotle for under $30 & would've had leftovers. We tried, but...

Easily the worst tacos I've ever eaten, the meat was flavorless , the onion was more in the tray then on the taco. They don't use real Mexican cheeses the white kind. They use cheddar or bagged "Mexican cheese for cheap homemade tacos. When I see jarritos I think real Mexican food, Not this mess. Also learn to chop your veggys up more. Save your money and go to el amigos or anywhere else. This place is no good. Also they use just one shell? The meat soaks the tortilla and it became a mess before I could eat it. Also dont just use a raw tortilla atleast heat it on the grill! NONE OF YOU HAVE EVER WORKED IN A REAL MEXICAN JOINT OR TACO CART . IT SHOWS TERRIBLY. 1 STAR FROM ME! I DIDNT EVEN WANNA GIVE YOU THAT. ONLY REASON THIS PLACE WILL STAY OPEN IS BECAUSE THEY SERVE BEER. ALSO ANOTHE REASON FOR VALPARAISO POLICE TO PULL YOU OVER AFTER LEAVEING THE ESTABLISHMENT. GOOD JOB MAYOR. YOUR FOOD SUCKS. BUILD THE YOUTH A SKATE PARK INSTEAD OF OPENING FAILING...

We ordered steak burrito’s, chicken taco’s, california burrito, chicken quesadilla’s and guac and chips, to go. Service was great, people were friendly, fast in and out. As for the food, one star at best. The guac had a really weird medicine and plastic after taste. The carne asada burrito’s have the same weird after taste because it has guac in it. Ate about 1/4 of the burrito and threw it away. That aside, the steak was tough and gristly, very little steak in the burrito. The chicken taco’s and quesadilla were inedible by a 4 and 6 year old because the stewed chicken was way too spicy for them. We ended up having to make them a separate dinner. Usually my kids plow through guac, they took about 2 bites and pushed it aside. Even their red sauce is bad, it tastes like a flavorless marinara sauce. The chips, subpar. The only thing we can say that was good about the meal was the green sauce, that’s it. Very disappointing for...

Perhaps the most worthwhile California style burrito I've had in the greater Valpo area. Ingredients and sound execution make for one heck of a burrito - I've tried nearly all of them, and never been disappointed, it's a guilty pleasure whenever I'm in town. Staff is unceasingly amiable and the tables and seating are regularly well cleaned. Perfect level of casual eatery where the focus is absolutely on the food. You are paying for a premium though - expect to fork over near double what you'd get at a normal Mexican place for a similar portion. With the quality of food you get, I'm okay with that, but it can get awfully expensive if you're treating someone for what is really just elevated street style cuisine. If it were more affordable I'd give it a perfect score; probably a good thing though, or I'd come here all the time.

UPDATED: It has been a while since I have had a burrito from Brick street so I figured I would update my review. I got the surf n turf again but made some changes no chipotle add sour cream ( .50 charge). Unfortunately they did not add the sour cream so the burrito was extremely dry. The fries were again really greasy and mushy I had to take them off. I also tried the chips n queso . There is no way that is house made queso! even with the large glob of Pico it still lacked flavor. I changed the rating. OLD I tried the surf n turf burrito. The steak and shrimp are amazing ! It does have a little spice to it which I like and tons of flavor. They are generous with the meat . The only downfall was the fries are not that good and made the burrito greasy. Otherwise it’s pretty darn good !

Found a steel screw in my husband's burrito. How could this even happen??? And the best part was the guy who prepared the burrito never apologized & tried to give us a giftcard instead of a refund...he went right back to the kitchen & started making more food. He didn't even attempt to look at his equipment to see where this could've possibly come from. Too bad because this was our first visit here & we really liked the food. EDIT*** just found a review from a year ago that showed a piece of plastic from their little salsa containers found inside a burrito! OMG this place needs to be reported to the health department. Scroll through the reviews & you can see for yourself. This blows my mind 🤯
